Good day, Ladies and Gentlemen. You’ve managed to find the journal of Ashley, who is 23 years old, attends Jackson Community College after deciding to jump ship off the idea of attending a university and thinks that writing introductions is a form of torture they should use in places like Gitmo, which thank god, is being shut down. Things this uncomfortable have to be.

Anyways. About her. Ashley used to work as a techie (my official title was "Scene Shop Aide", but what the fuck ever) at Jackson Community College's theatre department. Since then, she has moved up in the JCC food chain and works in the Academic Dean's office now. She used to be really active at Northern Michigan, but since moving home, she has had to suck it up and get involved in Jackson. Unlike things in Marquette, this involves a lot of driving. She is enrolled in American Literature, Children's Literature, 20th Century History, Voice for the Actor, and Acting II. In the past 9 months her life has changed drastically. She discovered a love and interest in the theatre (hence the theatre classes), and she also found herself in a serious relationship. She is currently engaged, and plans to get married in late 2011. Most of her time is divided between school, work, and Jared, because she finally found a job that will give her decent hours, she is determined to finish her education, and she's in love with him, respectively. Because she's not in Marquette, most of her friends aren't around. When she's got some downtime, she spends it surfing the internet, knitting/crocheting, reading books, and playing Nintendo Wii.

Ashley likes: her Tigers hat, iPod, cooking, reading, writing, couscous, tofu, glasses of wine, listening to NPR, Bitch magazine, sustainability, knitting, sewing, baseball, poetry, feminism and feminist theory, discussing the current energy crises, beer, hockey, gardening and reading the newspaper. No, she is not as boring as it sounds. Her friends call her “dting dtong”, which is “crazy” in Thai for a reason. Not because she is psychotic, mind you, just always doing crazy and weird things.

She is obsessive about: Baseball, Shakespeare, Torchwood, William Wordsworth's poetry, her RAV4, and her cat Astro.

She dislikes: Myspace, disrespect, soy cheese, baked beans, biased media reporting, cherry kool-aid, bad rap music, ridiculous song lyrics, people who treat her friends badly, hamsters, sexism, people who are loud in the library, pointless drivel, misogynistic men (yes, she realizes this is contradictory given that she likes Shakespeare, but he is the exception to the rule), social injustice, and homophobia.
