This study examined the militarization of Nigerian politics and its adverse effect on the United Nations Universal Human Rights in Nigeria. The paper is descriptive and qualitative in typology. Methods and sources of data collections focused on documented evidence. Marxist Class Theory served as the framework for explanation. Findings divulged that Nigerian governments neither tolerated nor contained the activities of oppositions and freedom fighters. There were disobediences of court orders. Force, judicial and political maneuvers were means of responses to the peoples’ demands, agitations, and resistance. Re-federalization of Nigerian political and economic systems in form restructuring is a workable option to resolve the quagmire. It will allow component ethnic groups enjoy some sense of autonomy, develop themselves and unite in solidarity at the federal level. In order to achieve those set objectives, bearing in mind that organizations do not exist in a vacuum but rather in a society, the relationship between the organization and its social milieu must be cordial and this can be achieved through good corporate social responsibilities. This paper analysed Shells Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) so as to ascertain if it has in any manner, affected its relationship with its host communities in Nigeria. Adopting Carrols CSR theory, Stakeholders theory and Triple Bottom Line theory as its framework of analysis, the paper employed content analysis in analysing data sourced from secondary sources of data generation. The paper revealed that Shell has indeed impacted positively on the Nigerian economy and its host communities in the Niger Delta. Notwithstanding this, there is still intermittent conflicts occasioned by the degradation of the environments by Shells activities and also, the fact that Shells SCR benefit a few while the majority still depend on the environment for sustenance. Against this backdrop, the paper recommends inter-alia that Shell should prioritize working on the causes of oil-spillage, such that affect the livelihood and social milieu of the Niger Delta region.

South African businesses abound in Nigeria with Shoprite, MTN, Stambic IBTC Bank, Multichoice (DSTV), etcetera featuring prominently. Nigerian companies in South Africa are not dominant in any sector or have any noticeable spread in the economy. This study investigated the nature of Nigeria-South Africa unequal investment relations and factors that hinder Nigeria’s efforts to balance them. The paper is a descriptive as well as qualitative study. Source and method of data collection were based on published online and hardcopy data, and realist theory of power served for explanation. Findings revealed that South Africa’s investments in Nigeria enjoy favorable economic policies and conducive environment and receive enough patronage and profits from large Nigerian population. This situation is reverse for Nigerian companies in South Africa where restrictive laws and unfriendly government polices constitute major challenges. The unequal investment relations between the two countries are the outcome of the struggle to achieve national economic interests with multi-national corporations serving as the suitable tools. Unfortunately, Nigeria runs business deficit in the struggle. The paper recommended the need for good governance and review of Nigeria’s foreign investment policies to make them more mutually reciprocal. In addition, government’s efforts should focus more on self-investment, infrastructural development and diversification of areas of investment than on campaign for Foreign Direct Investment. Keywords: Bilateral Relations, Nigeria-South Africa Relations, Unequal Relations, Investment, Unequal Investment
