However, the affective factors shaping emerging adults’ marriage beliefs are multifarious and merit further attention. Therefore, the ultimate goal of this research was to elucidate whether the family of origin’s quality and marriage age of parents were predictors of emerging adults’ ideal marriage age and the ideal amount of time needed to get to know a partner before marriage. The study group consisted of 500 unmarried university students and graduates in Turkey. A multivariate regression analysis was performed to analyse the data. The findings revealed that the marital timing of emerging adults was linked to a variety of familial factors. The ideal marital age of emerging adults was significantly predicted by the mother’s marital age, parents’ marital happiness and age. Later mother marriage age was correlated with later ideal age of marriage. Higher levels of perceived happiness in parents’ marriage were associated with earlier ideal age of marriage. Additionally, the mother’s marriage age and emerging adults’ relationship status and age were significant predictors of the ideal amount of time to get to know a partner before marriage. Later mother’s marriage age and having a romantic relationship was linked to a longer time to get to know a partner before marriage. Being older was also related to a shorter time to get to know a partner before marriage and the later ideal age of marriage. The ideal marital age is around 26 years old. Only 5% of emerging adults feel ready to get married. More than two-thirds of emerging adults do not want their marriage to resemble their parents’ marriage. Besides, most emerging adults give priority to a career in their life plans.

The findings revealed that the link between narcissism and relationship satisfaction is fully mediated by intentions towards infidelity. Similarly, the full mediating effect of relationship satisfaction exists in the association between narcissism and intentions towards infidelity. Mediational analyses further revealed that narcissism is a predictor of intentions towards infidelity, and this link is moderated by preoccupied, fearful, and dismissive attachment styles. As the results indicate, narcissism plays a significant role in young adults' intimate relationships, and attachment styles have a moderating role in narcissism's effect on romantic relationships. Results and implications are discussed in light of the relevant research findings.

Thus, a wide range of information and communications technologies, which have manifested themselves in the form of virtual learning environments, web-based platforms, or mobile-assisted applications, have been embraced in the field. With the introduction of new means and platforms for delivering instruction outside the classroom, blended learning, combining e-learning and conventional classroom methods as well as providing room for student control over the learning process, has gained popularity as a promising option. In this case study, which focuses on a group of second-year English language students at a School of Foreign Languages, the goal was to investigate students' attitudes towards blended learning with reference to six learning aspects: learning-flexibility, online-learning, study-management, technology-use, classroom-learning, and online-interaction (Tang & Chaw, 2013). Students' responses to the attitude questionnaire were subjected to descriptive statistical analysis as well as internal consistency tests among subscales. A subsequent focus group meeting was held with a group of 15 students to attain qualitative data on their views and attitudes towards blended learning with respect to their experiences and expectations. High-achievers had a tendency to hold positive attitudes towards all learning aspects while low-achievers required more face-to-face in-class time, interaction and study management support, pointing to possible links among such variables as language proficiency, learner autonomy and attitudes towards blended learning and highlighting how critical student characteristics and attitudes could prove in the implementation process.

relationships between narcissistic personality traits and primary and
secondary capacities of individuals within the context of positive
psychotherapy.
Methods: In the study conducted in 2016-17 academic year, the
participants were 255 university students (51.4% female, n=124 and
48.6% male, n=124) aged 18 to 25. As data collection tools, the Narcissistic
Personality Inventory, Wiesbaden’s Inventory of Positive Psychotherapy
and Family Therapy and Demographic Information Form created by the
researchers were used. The Multiple Regression Analysis method was
employed to achieve the objectives of the study.
Results: The findings revealed that two of the primary capacities,
namely time and patience, were significant predictors of narcissism. In
other words, the time capacity was a positive significant predictor of
narcissistic personality traits, while those traits were predicted by the
patience capacity in a negative way. Regarding the secondary capacities,
politeness, faithfulness, cleanliness and honesty were significant
predictors of narcissistic personality traits. In brief, the faithfulness,
cleanliness and honesty capacities were positive significant predictors
whereas the politeness capacity was a negative significant predictor of
narcissistic personality traits.
Conclusion: In brief, the primary and secondary capacities, which are
defined as personality traits in positive psychotherapy, were significant
predictors of narcissistic personality traits. Results and implications are
discussed in the light of relevant literature, and suggestions are offered
for future research.

know how to learn through digital technologies. Therefore, establishing an interactive
virtual learning platform that connects everyone together in a classroom environment
and helping learners become familiar with such media might serve a set of purposes in any educational setting. Today, with the advances in web-based learning technologies, a hybrid teaching methodology has become widespread: blended learning. It is a term used to describe the way e-learning is being combined with traditional classroom methods and independent study. Educators design online materials and utilize them in synchronous or asynchronous ways to suit the convenience of learners and instructors and program demands. In this study with a group of intermediate-level English language learners at the School of Foreign Languages of an English-medium state university, the goal was to enhance students’ vocabulary learning performance by using synchronous and asynchronous games and activities that will activate and maintain intrinsic motivation in an effort to teach parts of speech and collocations over a period of eight weeks. The data consisted of a survey of students’ reflections on their vocabulary learning experiences through digital games and activities. The findings were discussed with respect to the efficiency of incorporating synchronous and asynchronous learning materials.

Well-being Therapy, 2017
This study aims to describe the main characteristics of a novel psychotherapeutic approach, well-... more This study aims to describe the main characteristics of a novel psychotherapeutic
approach, well-being therapy. The prominent adverse effects of psychological
disorders are highly emphasized in psychiatric studies with a wide range of aspects.
In this case, individuals’ well-being is required to be the focus of psychotherapeutic
interventions as the term well-being covers both the absence of illness and wellness
together. Within this scope, the term of well-being is used to deal with positive
emotions instead of the negative ones and to promote the life satisfaction of individuals
by enabling them to have what they need in clinical settings. Although most of the
psychotherapy approaches aim to strengthen the clients in psychological manner, one
of the most comprehensive therapy method is well-being therapy which is based on
Ryff’s multidimensional model of well-being. This approach differentiates from other
positive interventions as it involves a wider eudemonic perspective. In literature, wellbeing therapy has been reported to be an effective method mostly in the treatment of
anxiety disorders, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, affective disorder and
obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Effectiveness of Psychoeducational Group Training on Turkish EFL Learners’ English Speaking Anxiety, 2018
Feelings of anxiety, apprehension, and nervousness, which are widely reported by foreign language... more Feelings of anxiety, apprehension, and nervousness, which are widely reported by foreign language (FL) learners, may cause learners to fail in achieving their desired goals, and they can lose motivation due to the detrimental effects of these feelings. Therefore, the purpose of this study was twofold: (1) to investigate the effectiveness of psychoeducational group training based on cognitive behavioural techniques (CBTs) to reduce the English as a foreign language (EFL) learners’ English speaking anxiety and (2) to increase the learners’ subjective wellbeing through subjective wellbeing-increasing activities (SWIAs). This study examined an experimental group and a control group consisting of eight English preparatory school students in each group. The Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS), the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI), and the Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) were used as pre- and post-tests to identify any improvements over ten sessions. Then, the participants came together for a follow-up session after one year. The data were analysed with the Mann-Whitney U Test, the Wilcoxon signed ranks test, and the Friedman test. The findings revealed that the sessions were effective on all variables, with significant increases in the post-test scores of the experimental group regarding positive affect, negative affect, life
satisfaction, and state anxiety; however, there were no statistically significant changes in the post-test scores of the control group for any variables. In sum, the findings were significantly different in terms of the post-test scores of the experimental group.

It is often these prominent characteristics that dominate her or his understanding of and attitude towards the science and practice of language advising although it is very likely that the formal advisor training content often helps surface relatively dormant qualities as well. In this respect, the focus in this visual message board is how nineteen learning advisors from Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University School of Foreign Languages (AYBU-SFL) and one from the Middle East Technical University School of Foreign Languages (METU-SFL) define their advisor selves with reference to their most prominent characteristics as reflected in their end-of-the-course thank you and appreciation cards designed by their trainers.

Well-being Therapy, 2017

approach, well-being therapy.

A multivariate regression analysis was performed to analyze the data. The findings revealed that the marital timing of emerging adults was linked to a variety of familial factors. The ideal marital age of emerging adults was significantly predicted by the mother’s marital age, parents’ marital happiness and age. Later mother marriage age was correla...

As the endpoints of a continuum, principled and expedient ethical ideologies function as the pathfinders for individuals along various ethical paths. In this sense, due to their multifarious components and implications in human relations, an elaboration of the mechanisms underlying principled ethical ideologies merits further attention. For this reason, this study aimed to a) investigate some cognitive, emotional and behavioural factors and personality traits related to principled behaviour; b) develop a valid and reliable scale to evaluate the principled behaviour tendencies of people holding a principled ideology; and c) reveal the links between principled behaviour and self-construal, authenticity and psychological needs. The results of three studies have demonstrated that being principled is a combination of certain cognitive, emotional and behavioural factors and personality traits. Furthermore, individualistic, relational and collectivistic self-construal, authenticity and autonomy as well as relatedness and competence within the context of psychological needs were potent predictors of being principled.
