This chapter focuses on the discussion about the cost-effective method using cloud infrastructure model for building and management of on-premise with the off-premise cloud service provider in business analytics. This chapter also elaborates the methodology undertaken and design considerations for implementation of cloud infrastructure with non-virtualized and on-premise infrastructure environment. The experiment using YGCIS (YG-cloud infrastructure solution) methodology is built for business analytics platform where infrastructure and its resources play a vital role. The cost-effective approach for total cost ownership (TCO) is implemented using YGCCS (YG-cost computing solution) framework. Thus, the solution obtained after implementing the above frameworks increases ROI % and reduces the TCO, im...

We explore the performance evaluation systems by using the software tools called Colasoft Capsa 7 Free. The evidence from the investigation showed that by using this software we can obtain the micro benchmark and using this benchmark we can measure the performance of a particular network. Our work provides new insights into potential measures that network operators can undertake to enhance network performance [1].

But the scenario of educational system in Indian universities related with Lab and hands on with Virtualization and Cloud technology is too limited due to lack of resources and other problems [13], [14], [15]. Thus Students lead to lack of technical knowledge in the field of Virtualization, Infrastructure building, Cloud Computing, etc in [16], [17]. Today's industry needs infrastructure related to the technical domain which is a big challenge for the Educational System. For an example Datacenter building and management, Failover and availability, Mission Critical, network security, managing of operations etc remains theoretical only in the books. The proper infrastructure is not there to cater into the practical aspects. So this project comes with the technical solution. This project focuses about the lab infrastructure which cover entire Lab designing and Demonstration. The project aims in the Designing and Implementation process for developing of Lab and Hands on Procedure. The technology used for this is Linux, VMware products. The project results as a hands on and demonstration approach by configuring and building a private cloud required for software defined datacenter and managing it services for a multi-purpose Computing Laboratory using virtualization Technology.

Libraries, Computer centers and laboratories, classrooms, Internet services, campus wide network are the basic infrastructure of any educational organization. Frequent replacements, upgradation of the hardware, software in computer related infrastructure is often. Many courses in the computing curriculum can benefit from hands-on educational activities in the form of laboratory components associated with the lectures. Over the past years, many problems related to the system administration of laboratories for system-oriented courses have found well-designed solutions in the deployment of virtualization suites. This technological advance enabled these courses to switch from a mostly descriptive content to learning activities which engage students in hands-on, authentic, problembased learning. Operating systems, system administration and networking are all examples of laboratories for which students need root access to be able to experiment with the concepts and implementation studied in the lectures [10]. With this constraint comes the need for a more flexible classroom management strategy. This paper explores how some open source virtualization and clustering technologies can be deployed to provide students, as well as instructors, with such an environment. We focus on providing solutions which can integrate transparently to any campus without involving significant changes to the classroom computers. We also emphasize the scalability aspect by providing a highly cost-effective solution which can be easily scaled up as the number of students or the requirements of the course in terms of computational power increase. Virtualization is also seen as one of the Green ITs which can help reduce infrastructure and maintenance cost especially for the organizations that may not be able to afford big capital investment upfront. Virtualization also eliminates the need to maintain and manage large, expensive systems across several campuses, giving colleges and universities a scalable, cost-effective solution that supports next-generation learning, assessment, and development.

Server Virtualization has evolved to support applications ranging from supercomputing and mission-critical software, through web server and e-commerce, to high performance database applications [13]. The Educational Infrastructure Management is an expensive concern. Libraries, Computer centers and laboratories, classrooms, Internet services, campus wide network are the basic infrastructure of any educational organization. Frequent replacements, upgradation of the hardware, software in computer related infrastructure is often [5], [24], [25]. Many courses in the computing booklet can benefit from hands-on educational activities in the form of laboratory components associated with the lectures. This technological advance enabled these courses to switch from a mostly descriptive content to learning activities which engage students in hands-on, authentic, problem-based learning [4], [20], [24]. Educators have an opportunity to teach many types of topics related to cluster computing in universities at various levels, from upper-division undergraduate to graduate [2]. " Green computing " represents environmentally responsible way to reduce power and environmental e-waste [21]. One of the primary goals of almost all forms of Virtualization is making the most efficient use of available system resources and optimizing it at high level [9]. This paper explores how some virtualization and clustering technologies can be deployed to provide students, as well as instructors, with such an environment. We focus on providing solutions which can integrate transparently to any campus without involving significant changes to the classroom computers.

Educational systems are looking to virtualization to reduce cost and increase security concern solutions as a suitable infrastructure models. Relatively new to educational, the concept of virtualization is proving itself in the business and consumer world as “the next big thing.” The concept of virtualization is very broad and can be applied to devices, servers, operating systems, applications and even networks [7].
Entire classes or departments can be quickly and easily set up with new desktop devices and applications because installation and configuration are done once, at the server, and duplicated as often as needed. Users can log on to virtual desktops from any device in the network [11]. VMware provides an excellent platform for deployment and VMM of Server Virtualization. Academic Institutions can take benefit of this platform for use in Laboratory to provide cost effective solutions. The infrastructure created can also be intelligently used for teaching networking concepts to students with the tremendous advantage of having everything at one place. Providing a good platform where algorithms on parallel computing, distributed computing can be tested is a necessity, which can be met with this type of infra-structure. The future research work in Server Virtualization will be carried in private cloud building and its virtual clustering [2].
In educational system the problem is how to utilize the old infrastructure to perform lab exercises which requires high performance computing resources in educational system by the use of Virtualization environment. This paper is based on experimental procedure to obtain a specific model to implement a standardized server virtualization using VMware ESXi with VSphere on server side and VClient on client side. This paper also focuses on green computing with the major factor Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

This is a cost effective solution. This is indigenous Ts olution. The work should be useful to create lab infrastructure in colleges. We have used 'Xen hypervisor' as the monitoring tool. These virtual machines appear as normal Linux processes and integrate seamlessly with the rest of the system. Our results indicate that Para-virtualization is very efficient and practical for educational lab-systems. Creation of more virtual machine instances simultaneously is possible by carrying out the various standardized lab procedures. Proper validation of the suggested designs has been carried out using experimental determination of performance indicators and their statistical analysis. We present proper content design and standardized laboratory plans for three lab sessions, which could be the short term goal for the organization. Appropriate checklists, time schedules, and adequate observation templates which are provided to help for conduct of lab sessions. A long term strategy could be to create such infrastructure and encourage research using this platform for experimentation, specially on distributed computing, which in the absence of such infrastructural support otherwise need external support. The solution offered in this paper is at best a feasible solution. It cannot be considered as an optimal solution because of the innumerable alternatives possible and dependency of the solutions on availability of indigenous components to pick up from the shelf.
