Study is conducted by selecting data of 191 non-financial sector companieslisted on PSX from 2010 to 2015.Logit model was employed to detect contribution magnitude of foreign sales, profitability, leverage, liquidity, price to earnings, interest coverage ratio and dividend payout towards decisions by firm of using the interest rate derivatives. The expected users of interest rate derivatives for purpose of interest rate exposure management were the firms with high foreign sales, lesser leverage, low profits, low dividend payout ratio andlow interest coverage ratio. The examination concludes that these derivatives are financial engineering tools and serve as immunization instruments for a firm from anticipated future financial risk.

This study uses panel data set from different sources over twenty-eight (28) years. The research uses different econometric techniques before switching to the generalized method of moments (GMM). The empirical results indicate a significant positive effect of net interest rate margins on bank loans in South Asian countries, whereas a positive relationship exists between foreign to local interest rates and the money supply. The findings depict that positive associations exist between inflation and money supply of banks, and between the money supply and bank stock returns. More specifically, the GMM results show that the money supply has positively affected the stock prices of banks suggesting strong policies for the stakeholders of these economies for the sake of economic growth and sustainable development.

Whereas behavioral finance uses knowledge from psychological studies in context of decision making in comparison to the so called predictable models popular in standard finance. Most oftenly investor behavior diverges from logics and rationality as investors are victim of numerous behavioral errors that intervene while they form up investment decision. Decison making is complicated due to the intervention of emotional attachments & avoidances, cognitive errors, and personality traits of decision makers. In developing country like Pakistan where the environment is unstable due to factors like security threats, terrorism, inflation, energy crises and are affecting the thinking pattern of people and the ratio of educated entrepreneur is very less, decisions are based on gut feelings, there is a need to study the impact of self-control, self-attribution along with cognitive dissonance and confirmation bias on investment decision and the current aimed to do so. The present study collected primary data through questionnaire from stock and bond investors. Significant positive relationship is found between the study biases and their impact on investment decisions of investors. Almost all the subjects were found to be the victims of confirmation bias, self-control bias, self-attribution & cognitive dissonance bias. Financial advisors are recommended to be first trained and then consulted for the detection & moderation of these biases before making investment decisions.

The main inspiration for TSO is based on the cooperative foraging behavior of tuna swarm. The work mimics two foraging behaviors of tuna swarm, including spiral foraging and parabolic foraging, for developing an effective metaheuristic algorithm. The performance of TSO is evaluated by comparison with other metaheuristics on a set of benchmark functions and several real engineering problems. Sensitivity, scalability, robustness, and convergence analyses were used and combined with the Wilcoxon rank-sum test and Friedman test. The simulation results show that TSO performs better compared to other comparative algorithms.

On the contrary and realistically due to bounded rationality the individuals behave normally and satisfice by settling down to the first available solution that comes to their mind. This bounded rationality leads to irrational decision making resulting into the market anomalies. One of the reasons of irrational decision making is biased behavior. While trading irrational investors make biased decision due to multiple cognitive and emotional biases. Current study explores a sequential series of three-step process to Decompose gains/losses of recent past trades for an individual investor into Sign of outcome and the Residual construct/variable of interest (size). Empirical investigation has been performed to reveal the fact that in context of Pakistani stock market Sign is significantly more powerful to influence investor’s mind and hence on the ...

Therefore, the objective of this study is to determine the mediating effect of Learning Orientation among the Market Orientation, Social Entrepreneurial Orientation and Organizational Performance in the non-profit sector. The data from more than 300 employees of the non-profit organizations through snowball sampling method was collected from different parts of Pakistan and analyzed by using Smart PLS software to perform Structural Equation Modeling. The findings indicate that acquiring strategic resources is also relevant for non-profit sector but these resources are useless if can be easily imitated. Therefore, an organization should develop such capabilities to make resources imperfectly imitable. Research also shows that Market Orientation and Social Entrepreneurial Orientation are key strategic resources but in the presenc...

Previous studies have demonstrated that ESD provides equivalent patient and caregiver outcomes with superior cost-effectiveness compared to conventional rehabilitation (CR). This study intends to examine the feasibility of ESD in Korea. Methods and Analysis: This study is designed as a multicenter assessor-blinded, randomized controlled trial. Ninety post-acute stroke patients with mild to moderate disability (modified Rankin Scale 1-3) will be recruited from three university hospitals (30 patients per hospital) in Korea and allocated to either the ESD group or the CR group in a 1:1 ratio. Patients in the ESD group will receive individualized discharge planning and goal setting, a 4-week home-based rehabilitation program, and liaison service to community-based resources by a multidisciplinary team. Patients in the CR group will receive rehabilitation practices according to their current hospital policy. Outcomes: The primary outcome is the Korean version of the modified Barthel Index, and the primary endpoint was post-onset 3 months. Clinical outcomes, patient/caregiver reported outcomes, and socioeconomic outcomes will be measured at baseline, 1 month after discharge, 2 months after discharge, and 3 months after onset. Institutional Review Board of Seoul National University Bundang Hospital (IRB number B-2012/654-308). The study protocol was registered at ClinicalTrials.gov (Identifier NCT04720820). Disseminations will include submission to peer-reviewed journals and presentations at conferences.

Five behavioral biases affecting irrational behavior of investors were selected: overconfidence bias, illusion of control bias, confirmation bias and recency bias and optimism bias. Primary data was collected through a questionnaire from 300 investors from banks, insurance companies, stock exchanges etc. The results were obtained by employing a correlation and regression analysis for the presence of behavioral biases and to detect degrees of their influence on decision making. Correlation results indicate moderate association between behavioral biases and decisions of investors. Outcome of the research indicates that while making financial decisions investors are moderately affected by behavioral biases.

In fact, existing studies have provided evidence that the rapid growth in NPLs leads to the financial crisis. Therefore whenever financial vulnerability is examined, main emphasis is placed on the levels of NPLs. The NPLs in Pakistan are increasing with an alarming rate each year; therefore the main aim of the current study is to investigate the bank specific determinants of NPLs. The current study used 6 years panel data (2006-2011) of 30 banks to test the validity of 10 banks specific hypotheses. The commercial banks can use the findings of current study to improve the current management performance, control the current level of lending as compared to expected NPLs and extensive lending during boom to reduce the level of NPLs.
