This RPG is has its roots in the Malice Mizer movie Bara no Konrei; A story which is sort of a cross between the classic Dracula and Anne Rice's vampires.

The setting is London somewhere in the Victorian era. The church is the main power in London, aside from the established governing power. The Church is having a problem and does not agree with the overflow of witches and other ungodly beings walking the streets.

There are a few priests that fight against the norm and willingly hide these poor souls from those that would rather see them hanged at the end of a long rope or burned at the stake.

DIVISIONS

There are three basic sections of power in the city of London at this time. Each having their own subdivisions but still having an overall leader. The divisions are as follows.

The Church - 'The Church' isn't one group, but two -- the Church of England and the Catholic Church. Both organizations are influential, but the most notable of the two is the Church of England, whose inner workings are so intimate with Parliament that the policies of the Queen may as well be that of the Church and vice versa. The Catholic Church is still trying to regain the foothold it once had before England committed the heresy of breaking away from the Vatican and disagreeing with God's Word.

The Kindred (Vampires) - The kindred have long been separated into four smaller groups, each being headed by their own lord (* denotes a lord) Each group of vampires resides in a separate district of London (North, South, East, West) and have their own special traits.

North - Your classic vampire, seductive, alluring, yet a flair for the artistic and fancy.
South - Proud and ambitious but not lacking a short temper.
East - Subtle, ruthless, and inhuman. Morals and ethics more 'opinion'. Polite and Traditional.
West - Sadistic, wicked and tough. Strong and outgoing, and willing to do anything to get to the top.

Each of the leaders for these divisions have been fighting amongst themselves for centuries, trying to decide who among them is strongest and most able to lead their race, there is certainly a bit of bad blood between them (no pun intended) and tensions are running high.

The Witches -

There are also the common folk, that tend to stay clear of these divisions, and they are the main group on which the high powers prey.

RULESHow to Join:

- Please check first if your character is already taken before claiming he or she. Otherwise, we might have some problems. We cannot stress enough how important this is.
- Please have a seperate journal for your character. Include the link to your character journal in your introductory post to the community.
- Please include an AIM screen name so that we can RP. It can be one that you made up for your character or your personal one, it's up to you.
- Please send a sample or your rping skills in with your form, you will not be accepted without one. For the sample post, please write a little something for the role the character is going to play so that the players can get a feel for your character.
- Since this is a MATURE community, it's asked that people pay attention to the meaning of the word. This means there will most probably be angst, yaoi, difficult situations, etc.
- When joining, please state in the comments (if applicable) what you are and are not willing to write. It makes it easier for everyone if we know that you don't, for example, write anything beyond kissing and heavy petting.
- If you are a little hesitant to post your application for all to see for whatever reason, applications may be emailed to: Mods

Form

To join, please submit this form in the community journal or email and wait until a mod gives you an ok. You will need to create a journal for your character and also have an AIM screen name, seeing as most of the rping will be done over AIM or in the journals themselves.

Conduct

- Be respectful of others. Rudeness will not tolerated. Any problems should be settled between the muns in question, or just ask one of the moderators to help solve the problem.
- Post in your muse journal(s) at least once every month. Inactivity will result in your character being removed from the community. You will be warned first, though.
- Please don't roleplay in the community journal, but do post your roleplays in the community journal behind an LJ cut. (( < lj-cut text="Your Text Here" > ))
- Please post all logs under an LJ cut and put a warning if there is sex, violence or anything else that may offend a reader. We do have members that aren't 18 or older.
- Anything OOC ( Out of character ) may be posted in the community journal as long as it pertains to the RP/RPs and/or muns.
- Please try to keep internet slang out of your conversation. It's understandable if there are errors, but no "leet" or anything like that. For example 'TyPiN lYK3 D!s!'
- Since this is an Alternate Universe, you don't have to act "just like them," just how the character that you're basing off the real person would act.
- Anything goes. Death will be part of the RP just like in any story, but you must ask the mun for consent before maiming and/or killing off his or her character.
