For more effective air pollution abatement policies it is important to locate areas where adverse impact can be expected to occur as a result of excessive regional deposition. That includes data of emission, meteorology, soil and vegetation characteristics. The impact of climate change has not been well investigated especially under conditions of intensive precipitations. A fuzzy logic method for ecosystem risk assessment of heavy metal pollution caused due to intensive precipitation is proposed. A fuzzy logic model with two inputs and one output is designed in the Matlab software environment using Fuzzy Logic Toolbox and Simulink. The simulation investigations are done. This fuzzy system will be part of the cloud information system for integrated risk assessment of natural disasters.

Simulation modeling for the safe use of a technical system on based a probability-based algorithm... more Simulation modeling for the safe use of a technical system on based a probability-based algorithm with constraints has been presented. The probability-based algorithm consists of task decomposition and forming a transition matrix. The task decomposition is used to define critical subtasks for the safe use of a technical system. At each stage of using a technical system, constraints are defined based on technological regulations. The probability of successfully executing a subtask is related to compliance with technical regulations and otherwise. The transition matrix is the filled probabilities of executing for each subtask. Based on the probability-based algorithm, a simulator with immersive technologies for training forest machine operators was developed. Analysis of experimental data in the training process showed a decrease in the sum of the operator’s errors by 80%. The practicability of using the simulation modeling for the safe use of a technical sys-tem based on the probability-based algorithm in industry for training operators.

The cloud infrastructure provides for a computer infrastructure platform as a service. The cloud computing providers offer online common business applications accessed by Web browsers, and the software and data are stored in servers. One of the most advertised advantages of the cloud-computing paradigm is the reduction of hardware deployment and installation times. Cloud storage and compute instances must be viewed as another type of resource. The promise of cloud computing is that it can increase capacity «on-demand» easily and not necessarily automatically. Since every compute instance is a service, many cloud providers put the control of those instances in the hands of their customers. The decision when to launch new instances and their number can be crucially important regarding the rising traffic and computing capabilities and in those circumstances all could end with inefficiencies in cloud capacity. The current article attempts to propose guidelines for efficient planning of cloud capacity.

The key idea is the intellectualization of the Virtual Environment by changing the dynamic parameters, taking into account the performance metrics. The performance metrics include the time spent for the current task and the mistakes made. If the learner makes some errors within a long time interval, then the environment is rebuilt by using the dynamic parameters. The mechanism for the changing the dynamic parameters in the Virtual Reality, based on the fuzzy model with a set of rules and the membership functions, bind the performance metrics and the characteristic for those parameters. At the same time, the complex environment can include hundreds of dynamic parameters and for this case, an optimization of the fuzzy model is needed. For this reason, a genetic algorithm with a single fuzzy rule for changing the dynamic parameters is applied. This approach is used in the development of a training simulator for a forest cutting machine (harvester). The results obtained could be beneficial to modeling of training systems and for improving the performance during the training session.
Data collection and provisioning, horizontal and vertical integration, cloud computing, big data ... more Data collection and provisioning, horizontal and vertical integration, cloud computing, big data analytics, mobile and social technologies, IoT (Internet of Things) are some of the essential components of the fourth industrial revolution. The synergy between cloud technologies and mobile applications globally changes every aspect of how organizations work today. This change has never been so tangible and fast. Mobile devices and sensors, cloud technologies and geographical information systems are digital technologies - factors in Industry 4.0. Natural disaster data acquisition through mobile units and sensors via internet, data management and data analysis are targets, which will be solve by digital technologies and system integration. The survey suggests an approach to management natural disaster and crisis, interoperability with existing IT systems, and decision support.

In recent years, the activated sludge processes are shown to be significantly negative affected by the natural hazards (the climate factors) as extreme temperatures, intensive rainfall, etc. An approach for analysis of natural hazard (climate change) impacts on wastewater treatment process with activated sludge is proposed. The approach is based on qualitative analysis of the input-output static characteristics of the activated sludge process, involving uncertainties in the inflow parameters of the aerobic bioreactor. The process model is described by the system from two nonlinear ordinary equations with interval coefficients. The impact levels of one natural hazard on the activated sludge process are defined as a deviation between the nominal and the affected input-output characteristics. The negative effects are described by variation in given intervals of some process coefficients and are calculated as percentages (deviations) from the nominal process coefficients. This analysis of natural hazard impacts on activated sludge wastewater treatment process is necessary in order to operate such system stable and efficiently.

Currently, there is no online-based information system to disclose and manage traffic in the event of a problem or disruption of a transport segment from the road infrastructure. The main purpose of the paper is to present a common methodology for designing a cloud-based online information system for road infrastructure monitoring and traffic management in disasters. The methodology of the information system is based on traditional geographic information system (GIS) solutions, Web-based technologies and GPS navigation systems.

The nonlinear model is transformed into a linear model with parameters varying in definite intervals. Variable-structure control in sliding mode is designed. The sliding mode is realized with respect to an auxiliary variable. The theoretical results are proved by computer simulations of the designed variable-structure control in sliding mode for nonlinear fermentation processes.
