Manny Forson

I have recently completed my master's studies at the University of Bath with a major in Computer Science. As part of my studies, I have acquired the knowledge and understanding in specialising areas of technology (computing) such as web and software applications as well as an implementation of designs and user experience. I worked as freelance designing, developing, and supporting live applications for clients. I have a passion for technology and find the field of application development extremely rewarding in this sense. As long as I can remember I have always strived to better my understanding of the things around me and tried to grasp knowledge that would enable me to create bigger and better things. Since I’ve been introduced to the world of application development, I have been engulfed by its pristinely methodical procedures. Creating a working program from scratch using only knowledge and initiative thoroughly excites me. I seek to build on strong technical skills with experience gained so far to develop my skills and knowledge in a creative environment.

This paper proposes a Leap Motion gesture control device for human interaction. It will be developed using the airspace app for the Leap Motion and Unity 3D environment. The implementation will be embedded directly using the V2 setup of the LMC. The system allows users to connect LMC for hand gesture control of the interface. To accomplish this objective, a set of gestures interactions will be implemented with a computer game based on the literature which suggest the imitating of current game controllers, perceived as suitable and "natural" for interaction.
