The purpose of this study was to conduct an online survey regarding teacher’s and student’s perce... more The purpose of this study was to conduct an online survey regarding teacher’s and student’s perception and experience related to online classes. Delivery of classes through online medium has been a recent modification brought out by the education system in India in the wake of the current pandemic situation. Thus, this survey describes college and university teachers and students’ perceptions and concerns with regard to taking online classes that have been made mandatory in the wake of COVID19. The sample consisted of 70 teachers and 407 students from colleges and universities in Bangalore city. Online survey method was used for the purpose of data collection. The findings show that the following areas are important for teacher and student satisfaction with online classes, these areas are: quality and timely interaction between student and professor, technical support availability, structured online class modules, and modifications to accommodate conduction of practical classes.

Perceived stress refers to the subjective experience of stress. It refers to the individual’s perception which involves their thoughts and feelings about how much stress he or she is experiencing at a given time period. Emotional stability on the other hand is an important contributory factor to the mental health of adolescents. Stability in emotions and emotional regulation helps an individual to be more flexible and adaptable to their life situations and environment. It involves selfcontrol over one’s behavior, emotions and cognitions, monitoring them when necessary and managing them adequately to function at the highest potential possible. The purpose of the current study was to examine the relationship between self-regulation and psychological well-being among undergraduate students of Bangalore city in the age range of 18-21 years to see if acts of selfregulation predict higher psychological wellbeing. However, over use of social media may have a negative impact on the individual's life. Self-compassion is an attitude which is found to be a powerful coping mechanism when dealing with the difficulties of life. It is the ability to comfort o neself when one is stressed, hurting emotionally and in need of care and solace. Studies have shown that individuals use of social media often increases when they are going through negative and stressful life experiences. The need to seek reassurance and compassion from others increases when an individual is feeling low or negative. Most of the time, people tend to seek compassion and validation from external sources rather than being self-compassionate and the easiest way in today's fast paced, technological world is to seek this support through social media. Thus, the aim of the study was to assess the relationship between self-compassion and social media addiction. To understand, if acts of self-compassion has any significant relationship with social media addiction. The study was done on undergraduate students of private colleges from Bangalore city in the age range of 18-21 yrs. Two questionnaires, namely: Self compassion scale by Dr. Neff and Social media addiction scale by Tutgun-Unal were used. A sample of 300 high school students were selected using purposive sampling technique. Two research instruments namely: Home Environment Inventory (HEI) and Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) were used to gather data for the study. Results from analysis using Spearman's correlation technique showed that there was a significant relationship between self-esteem and dimensions of home environment namely; control, reward, deprivation of privileges, social isolation, nurturance, rejection and permissiveness. Mann-Whitney U test result showed significant gender difference in the dimension of home environment namely; protectiveness, reward, deprivation of privileges, nurturance, rejection and permissiveness.
