- This Monday, nucleareurope, the World Nuclear Association, the Nuclear Energy Institute and the Japanese Atomic Industrial Forum (JAIF) co-organised an official #COP29 side event on turning the commitment to triple global #nuclear capacity by 2050 into actions. Nucleareurope DG Yves Desbazeille highlighted that addressing the question of project financing is key to reach nuclear capacity expansion objectives, and called for a long-term policy framework which can help provide investors with the certainty that they are looking for in such long-term projects.

- On 14 November 2024, nucleareurope Communications and Advocacy Director Jessica Johnson participated in a high-level plenary session on #inclusive and #competitive #skills for societal needs, organised in the framework of the Strategic Energy Technology (SET) Plan conference. In her intervention, Jessica stressed the fact that in many instances, the nuclear industry mobilises the same skills as other technologies, and called for a cross-sectoral approach to tackle skill shortages in these fields rather than working in silos.#SETPlan

- On Monday 11 November, nucleareurope Legal and International Relations Director Berta Picamal Vicente Picamal participated in a workshop oprganised by the #Norwegian #Nuclear Association, which focused on gathering inputs for the elaboration of an action plan aimed at building national nuclear proficiency collaboration between Norwegian, Nordic, European, and international organisations. In her intervention, Berta detailed the changing #political landscape at the European level, with a clear shift towards more support for nuclear. She highlighted that in many countries, opinion polls showed an increase in favourable views of nuclear energy, and that policies were also evolving at both national and European levels.
