Hello beerglasswalks! Via squirmelia, I find the Lonely Planet experimental travel page. I haven't read them all yet, but this one caught my eye:
Go to your favourite pub and order your favourite drink. Ask the barperson where their favourite pub is and what they drink there. Go there and order their recommended drink, and then repeat the exercise with whoever serves you, and so on.
Would probably work best in a smaller city than London, at least if you wanted to do it on foot.

Seeing as I am going to be up in Edinburgh anyway:
If anyone wants to come on an exploration of Edinburgh, meet at Bannerman's bar at 11.00 am on Monday 9th July where a pint shall be drunk and the empty glass duly placed on an OS 1:50 000 map especially purchased for the occasion.
edit: 12.00, not 11.00, cos Bannerman's doesn't open until then.

There's a right of way along the river.
Map can be found here.
When would be a good date to do it?
When would be a good date to do this Oxwalk?
Course, most of the people who would go on it are off at Glastonbury.
