Permasalahan yang terjadi seperti mundurnya garis pantai akibat terjangan gelombang, hilangnya lahan permukiman akibat erosi di pantai (abrasi), dan intrusi air laut (rob) di kawasan tambak seluas ± 582,8 ha selama lima tahun terakhir. Salah satu upaya yang telah dilakukan untuk mencegah permasalahan menjadi lebih buruk adalah dengan penanaman mangrove. Peran mangrove terhadap stabilitas garis pantai diyakini sangat besar. Sebagai bentuk kepedulian, Departemen Teknik Sipil Undip beserta Mapateksi UNDIP (organisasi mahasiswa pecinta alam Teknik Sipil UNDIP) melaksanakan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dalam bentuk penanaman mangrove. Pemilihan Desa Bedono sebagai lokasi pengabdian karena kawasan tersenut garis pantainya telah rusak, terjadi air pasang yang menggenangi pemukiman, serta adanya pantai yang tergerus/abrasi. Wasps of the genus Eustenogaster van der Vecht, 1969, with 17 species currently recognized, are d... more Wasps of the genus Eustenogaster van der Vecht, 1969, with 17 species currently recognized, are distributed from the Indian subcontinent in the west to the Philippines, Sulawesi Island and Java Island in the east. Two new species of hover wasp genus Eustenogaster (E. multifolia sp. nov., E. sumatraensis sp. nov.) are described from specimens collected in Sumatra Island. The female of E. vietnamensis occurring in Vietnam are described for the first time. The lectotypes of Paravespa eva Bell, 1936 and Ischnogaster ornatifrons Cameron, 1902 are designated. The new taxonomic status is proposed for Stenogaster eximioides Dover and Rao, 1922 as a good (=valid) species of Eustenogaster. The synonymy of Ischnogaster ornatifrons Cameron, 1902 with Eustenogaster micans (de Saussure, 1852) has been confirmed. A revised key to species and a taxonomic and distributional checklist of all the species of Eustenogaster are provided.

The studies on human capital and technological progress have given incredible insights on how cou... more The studies on human capital and technological progress have given incredible insights on how countries in the world differ from one another. Yet there are more than those two reasons to account for differences among countries. There is a third reason why a country would differ in terms of its economic development progress, namely institutional factors. Hence developing institutional indices would give a deeper explanation than a mere theory. On the other hand, we can corroborate the institutional index with the general theory that low-quality institutions will impact an economy negatively. This study seeks to broaden the understanding of causes of economic growth by incorporating institutional index into a semi-endogenous growth model and finds a relationship between that index with human capital and technological progress

Flooding is a natural disaster which can not be prevented totally, Some countermeasures to allevi... more Flooding is a natural disaster which can not be prevented totally, Some countermeasures to alleviate the flooding's damaging effects have been implemented with some deggree of succes and some with limited succes (fail). These countermeasures include normalizing the river courses, increasing its embankment, providing revetment, or providing with flood control structures. However, these countermeasures are not the only action to reduce flooding damage. An equally important action contributing to the success on reducing flood damaged is nontechnical measures especially system information on flooding characteristics This nontechnical measure requiring flood forcasting procedures (software, equipments, information exhange, procedures, and coordination). When the time, the places, and the magnitudes of the incoming floods can be predicted with better confidence then the affected regions and people can prepared to anticipate well before the flood occurrence. This will definitelyreduce the possible flood damages. This paper presents the development of flood forecasting function in the Tuntang River, i.e., from Glapan weir to Gubug, and Buyaran bridges. Additioanlly, the flood forecasting functions along the river, i.e., at every potentially vulnerable embankments are also presented. These functions have also been calibrated by the floods occuring on 2001.

Kedungombo reservoir has provided a substantial contribution in improving the welfare of society,... more Kedungombo reservoir has provided a substantial contribution in improving the welfare of society, so that its existence should be preserved. As time goes there are some issues Kedungombo. The problems are concerning with the condition of reservoirs, dams and problems in the surrounding area. To preserve the reservoirs, conservation efforts by reviewing the management of the reservoir area. The study results showed that there was no master plan to utilize the management of Kedungombo catchment. For this reason, it is proposed the development of Kedungombo area is directed to recover the potential and cultivitation areas, to empower community and to strengthen the protected and cultivitation areas in order to concerved Reservoir. Kedungombo area is directed as a center of tourism services, housing, aquaculture and local protected areas. Reservoir area is specified to 500 meters from the boundary of the highest reservoir water level, so hopefully all the activities in this area follows specified to the regulations. It is recommended to develop an institution to manage Kedungombo Area. The institution should be able to implementation the principle of management i.e. transparency, open to various parties; can be accounted for; clarity the limits of authority, territory under the following management roles and responsibilities and apply the principles and legal norms in the management of the Area Kedungombo. The model is expected to be implemented and become a model for Reservoir Management in Indonesia.

The hitherto-unknown female of Calligaster viridipennis Giordani Soika, 1960, is described based on specimens newly collected in Central and Southeast Sulawesi. A key to species is also provided.
