The two main categories are the knowledge area – knowledge unit structure used by CE, CS, and SE and the competency structure used by IT and MSIS. Finding a way to express the competency expectations of all degree program types in computing at the same level of abstraction will be a key to the success of the CC2020 project. The upcoming process to develop a new IS undergraduate recommendation will also benefit from CC2020 work and contribute to it.

Because the adaptability of information and communication technologies to individual preferences and different environments is continuously improving, it has become increasingly feasible and important to investigate the relationships between individual characteristics (such as personality) and features of technology. In this study, ...

This is exactly what McKinney and Yoos have done in their MISQ article “Information about Information: A Taxonomy of Views”[3]. The relatively gloomy view that this article presents regarding our level of understanding of information as a concept suggests that our students also would benefit from a deeper foundational coverage of the ...

However, such efforts will likely succeed only if they are based on a firm grasp of the divide’s underlying causes. In this paper we report the results of a comprehensive analysis of the determinants of the international digital divide. Our results confirm many findings of past research, but also extend existing knowledge in important ways. By employing Multivariate Adaptive Regression Splines (MARS), we discover non-linearities and interaction effects among the predictors. We then articulate significant policy implications based upon these findings.

As members of the higher education community in our field, we are fortunate to work with a large number of colleagues who not only are expert teachers but also have the tradition and the desire to share what they have learned through publishing. Therefore, a number of channels exist through ...

Based on philosophical and computational models of collaboration, the instrument was designed to assess three features of system-user collaboration: Commitment to Joint Activity (CJA), Mutual Responsiveness (MR), and Commitment to Mutual Support (CMS). The development process included a series of deliberate steps to ensure content validity: ...

The panel members represent universities in Europe, Africa, and the Americas, and thus, the panel creates an excellent opportunity for an in-depth discussion regarding the regional differences in perspectives to curriculum development and the ...
