My Journal Is Amazing (original) (raw)

In Memoriam

Sadly, Sentinel (aka Ticky) passed away this morning. He was four months old today, and it thankfully looks that he died without suffering. Sentinel is remembered by his sister Shockwave, and Baroness the ferret. And likely by the four squawky lovebirds in the room next to ours.

Rest in peace, Sentinel.

Little baby Octane was born today.

This was taken about two weeks ago, and it's my favourite of the baby birds pictures so far.

Today another lovebird hatched; the first one hatched two days ago (on Saturday) which was the same day two lost, orphaned starlings joined the flock.

We got a new *~*fabulous*~* camera recently and of course one just has to take pictures of birds.

The birds are all set up in their own room now, with their filter and their heater, their own lamp and even their own sink. The room they are in used to be a kitchen and having a sink so close is the best thing ever, really.

Here's Toby:

Christmas Cards

December 16th, 2009

It occurs that I've not yet posted about Christmas cards.

SO

If you would like a Christmas card, leave me your address! If you think I already have it, leave it again anyway because I'm paranoid about addresses changing (and also really good at losing addresses.) I've turned on screened comments, or you can PM me as well.

Also I apparently asked my mother (when I was three or something) if Cobra Commander was going to steal me if I fell asleep, and she said not to worry because G.I. Joe would stop him. I also would incessantly sing the "batty batty bat bat" song (and it frequently pops in my head) from Sesame street, so much so that my mother spent many years trying to find me a bat bath toy for Christmas. Mom thinks these are the origins of my love of snakes and bats, though draws a blank on from what I get a love of parrots from. I'm not sure why I typed all this, but I post criminally little and so here is some actual content.

Oh, and I'm a procrastinator (obviously) and thus I have a feeling they will not reach you by Christmas. BUT they will be sent! I even already bought some cards! THAT IS HOW MUCH I WILL ACTUALLY SEND THEM OUT THIS TIME, TOTALLY.
