This prominent King-Prophet of the Old Testament comes to the fore with his identity as King in Christian tradition, while the Koran places a special importance on his identity as a Prophet. He is depicted as the ruler of not only the visible world but also of the underworld and all living beings.
This article attempts to evaluate the iconographic elements that were reflected on miniature paintings of the Prophet Solomon in Ottoman artistic tradition, within the framework of religious, semi-religious and mythical texts. The main function of miniature paintings is to translate the stories narrated in the text into a visual language. Although miniature paintings of religious or literary themes were often based on holy books and similar literature, the impact of verbal tradition on miniatures is undeniable and very significant. Miniatures of Solomon stand out with their rich iconographic structure that incorporates many elements. The mythical aspects of Solomon have been the subject of many folk tales while in Islamic miniatures he was generally depicted in the manuscripts of literary works, history of prophets, cosmology and geography.
Within the framework of this tradition, the Queen of Sheba, Asaf, hybrid figures, various animals, the ring, the throne, birds, horses and the temple stand out among all the elements that were incorporated in miniatures. This article attempts to focus on the iconographic components of Solomon in Ottoman Islamic Miniatures while at the same time it looks for the traces of past cultures that had flourished in the same region.

One of the great rulers of the Old Testament, Solomon has been an important figure not only in Hebrew history but also in Christian and Islamic traditions. The purpose of this study is to make an iconographical evaluation of Solomon's depic-tions in mural paintings and mosaics of Christian tradition and Ottoman illuminated manuscripts with regard to the typology and evolution of an idealized sense of imperial rule.

Although it is known that the icons found in the metochion churches in Istanbul have not been studied before, the icons belonging to the church in Yeniköy from these structures were included in the research. Due to the limitations of the article, which prevented the evaluation of all the icons in the church, the research focused solely on the technical and stylistic features of the multi-themed proskynetarion icons. Proskynetarions, also known as the pilgrim icons, contain depictions of the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem due to their characteristics. The presence of proskynetarions in this place is directly related to the fact that Yeniköy Ayios Yeoryios Church is a Metochion affiliated to the Jerusalem Patriarchate. Icons are accepted as important works of art in the frame of art history, as well as their liturgical role as manifestation and visual representations of the sacred. It is important to reveal such previously unpublished works, to evaluate them iconographically and to bring them to the art history literature with their semantic context. In the study, a brief historical overview of the status of the Jerusalem Orthodox Patriarchate and the relations between the two patriarchates is presented. At the same time, the location of the building, the architectural plan type, the periodical features in the exterior and interior decoration are mentioned.
