The exact figures for worldwide prevalence of anaemia among adolescent girls are not known, but are estimated to be quite high. A decrease in the prevalence of anaemia during pregnancy could be achieved through improvement in the status of adolescent girls. The present study was undertaken to determine the prevalence of anaemia in adolescent girls studying in urban and rural schools of Pune city.
