I'm reading the Bible starting with the New Testament as my Daily Time Quiet Journal my dad got for me for Christmas dictates. Earlier in the week I was asked if I could post what I have been posting on my journal on here and I am only too happy to oblige! All the stuff that I am posting comes from the Family Christian Store "2 Minutes a Day: Beating Stress" Daily Devotional.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NKJV - "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of god in Christ Jesus for you."
Is prayer an integral part of your daily life, or is it a hit-or-miss habit? Do you "pray without ceasing," or is your prayer life an afterthought? Do you regularly pray in the solitude of the early morning darkness, or do you lower your head only when others are watching? The answer to these questions will determine the direction of your day-and your life.
So here's your challenge: during the next year, make yourself a prayer warrior. Begin your prayers early in the morning and continue them throughout the day. And remember this: God does answer your prayers, but He's not likely to answer those prayers until you've prayed them.
"Prayer will make a man cease from sin, or sin will entice a man to cease from prayer." - John Bunyan
Today's Prayer: Dear Lord, make me a person whose constant prayers are pleasing to You. Let me come to You often with concerns both great and small. And, when You answer my prayers, Father, let me trust Your answers, today and forever. Amen.
Stress Buster:
If you find yourself becoming overly stressed, find a quiet place to go and pray. Ask God fr His guidance, and while you're at it, ask Him to give you the courage to meet the challenges ahead. And rest assured: When you ask, He answers.
