Writing most of this, I listened to Idan Raichel's "Mi Maamakim" on repeat which I will now irrevocably associate with the quarians (a song about love in Hebrew!), along with Paul Pena and Kongar-ol Ondar's "Konguerey", a song which translates roughly to "where has my country/homeland gone?" about the loss of culture, ancestral lands and language in the modern world of the Central Asian steppe.
