For this reason, my SBM and I will be observing four Y8 History lessons (same group) while I will be teaching, two of them by keeping the default seating arrangement and two of them by changing the seating plan. By doing so, I will try to prove that behaviour management can become more manageable, facilitating pupils' progress. I will change the seating plan only once but keep its layout the same, respecting the school policy, also due to the small dimension of the classroom where the study will take place. I will dig in further on the theme and analyse the impact that changing the seating plan has on the students, mostly on behaviour linked to teaching standard 7: managing behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment. Four observations will be carried out (a list of disruptive behaviours will be tallied). The students and the school will be given a consent form to sign in order to carry out the studies.

Participants: 28 Y8 average high abilities students (mix gender) will be observed during four history lessons.

Design, Materials & Procedure: The participants will be observed during four History lessons, two maintaining the original seating plan and another two rearranging it to see the change in behaviour. The new seating plan will be based on academic capabilities and behaviour issues. I will match those with high grades with those who tend to perform poorly, those who behave well, and those who tend to be disruptive to balance the classroom. I will use a quantitative observation method, where a list of disruptive behaviours such as talking with peers, walking within the classroom without permission, not respecting the authority (teacher), throwing objects and refusing to work, including behaviour consequences, will be tallied by the class teacher (SBM) while I will be teaching. In the end, based on the data, I will draw a comparison to see if the new seating plan has improved the classroom's behaviour. The data will be collected by the class teacher, while as a trainee teacher, I will be teaching during these four lessons. The SBM/Class Teacher will be provided with a list of the students within a grid-based, including a series of disruptive behaviour. The class teacher, as the observer, will tick the appropriate misbehaviour listed in the grid for each pupil during the lessons I will be teaching.
I will also carry with me a lesson proforma where I will annotate the behaviour of the classroom as a traffic light system to detect the behaviour of the students in order to analyse the data collected.

Analyses: I will transfer the raw data recorded from the observations into excel for the later develop two graphs, which will be included in the research.

The five elements of the portfolio are:

1. What is the place of your subject within the curriculum? What is the historical context?
What elements do you feel are most important?
2. With reference to the relevant literature, discuss what behaviours are needed for
learning in your subject. How have these been supported in the lessons you have
observed?
3. What different teaching approaches (pedagogies) have you observed? Engage critically
with these with reference to the literature. Choose one that you feel is particularly
effective in your subject and discuss the theories that underpin this effectiveness.
4. How can you tell if pupils are making progress in a lesson? Discuss with reference to
one or more observation tools how observation has helped your developing
understanding.
5. With reference to the literature on the value of reflective practice, consider the range
of tasks undertaken by teachers beyond teaching their subject. Why do these other
professional roles matter?
