In a significant contribution to wildfire safety, 1884 Line Co., a subsidiary of Kiewit Transmission Services Inc., has made a generous donation to the city of Weed, California. While engaged in the Wildfire Hardening project for PacifiCorp, the 1884 Line Co. team learned about the city’s efforts to raise funds for replacing an outdated water truck vital for firefighting operations.

Recognizing the urgent need for advanced equipment in wildfire-prone areas, the team at 1884 Line Co. stepped up to support the cause. They presented the city officials of Weed with a state-of-the-art Multiquip Water Buffalo, a modern water trailer designed to enhance wildfire control capabilities significantly.

The new Multiquip Water Buffalo will play a crucial role in Weed’s firefighting efforts, providing the community with better protection against wildfires. This initiative underscores 1884 Line Co.’s commitment to safety and community support.

The donation marks a meaningful collaboration between 1884 Line Co. and the city of Weed.

“It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with the community, expand our efforts, and demonstrate our commitment to stewardship, a core value at 1884,” said Mark Swanson, a sponsor at 1884 Line Co.
