Support Muhammad Ali Center on Give for Good Louisville (original) (raw)
As a young man, Muhammad Ali forged an identity of his own, and in so doing, he shook up the world.
The Muhammad Ali Center's mission is to mobilize Muhammad's legacy toward a more just and compassionate world where all people can realize their greatness. This Give for Good, we're asking for your support.
By donating to the Ali Center this Give for Good, you can help us enhance our youth programs and strengthen our community outreach. Some of our current work supported by your donor dollars includes:
The Muhammad Ali Center Council of Students (MACCS) is a diverse group of Louisville high school students committed to improving themselves and their communities through the practice of Muhammad Ali’s six core principles: Confidence, Conviction, Dedication, Giving, Respect, and Spirituality. Students meet twice monthly to learn about civics, social justice, and methods of nonviolent social change. While the program focuses on leadership development, the gains these students show in academic performance, socio-emotional well-being, and civic-mindedness are nothing short of transformative.
Ali Center Entrepreneurs (ACEs) is a ground-breaking program that offers high school students a unique opportunity to not only learn about social entrepreneurship, but to work in teams to develop an actual social enterprise. During the school year, students meet twice monthly to explore social justice issues in their communities and develop ways to combat those issues through creative business endeavors. By the end of the program, students will have conceptualized, produced, marketed, and launched a small social enterprise business.
The Reimagining series harnesses the voices and imaginations of our youth to tackle pressing social justice issues. Youth participants are given a chance to explore an inequitable system and reimagine something better.
The Daughters of Greatness series honors women who are changemakers in the arenas of social philanthropy, activism, and pursuits of justice. These women embody Muhammad’s core values as they actively work to realize the Center’s vision for a more just and compassionate world where all of us—whatever our race, religion, or background—can achieve the fullest measure of our greatness.
Join us this Give for Good to help our community and beyond find greatness within. Together we can shake up the world.
Who We Are
Guided by Muhammad Ali's six core principles, the Muhammad Ali Center features an interactive museum, educational programming, and special events to inspire young adults and adults to pursue greatness in their own lives, communities and countries. The Center's museum captures the inspiration derived from the story of Muhammad Ali’s incredible life and the principles that fueled his journey. Our programming expands locally, nationally, and internationally around the globe to promote respect, hope, and understanding. The Center’s primary focus areas are education, gender equity, and global citizenship. The Muhammad Ali Center, a 501(c) 3 corporation, was co-founded by Muhammad Ali and his wife Lonnie in their hometown of Louisville, Kentucky.
