kendokamel: bloomingtonsnb bloomingtonsnb bloomingtonsnb Fri, Feb. 29th, 2008 03:45 pm Greetings, ladies and gents!I have discovered what looks to be a perfect location for SnB get-togethers - Rachel's Cafe. It's on 3rd St., across from Turkuaz Cafe, and is incredibly spacious and airy, with a really good ambiance. It serves coffee, tea, hot chocolate (made the good way - with hot milk and crumbled chocolate), as well as pastries and paninis and other tidbits. There are cafe tables and chairs, as well as a couple of comfy sofas.( Here's a mapCollapse ) CommentReplyFlag
madilyn: bloomingtonsnb bloomingtonsnb bloomingtonsnb Wed, Jan. 23rd, 2008 01:29 pm I know this community peaks and drops, but I thought I'd check in and see if anyone was up for getting together in the next couple of weeks... maybe some Super Bowl knitting or something?Anyway, if someone's out there and wants to hook (or needle) up, lemme know! 2CommentReplyFlag
sshugo: bloomingtonsnb bloomingtonsnb bloomingtonsnb Thu, Nov. 8th, 2007 08:54 am Stitchers, lend me your ears! My momma and I recently returned from a trip to Austin, TX with not only 20 extra pounds of carry-on luggage, but also with DREAMS! We went to the Maker's Faire, a Cloud 9 for makers, thinkers, players, and hackers. There we participated in our very first Swap-O-Rama-Rama: "a clothing swap and series of do-it-yourself workshops in which a community explores creative reuse through the recycling of used clothing". After a hard day of "ooo-ing" and "awww-ing", it was official: WE WERE HOOKED. TO THE POINT: We would like to set up a Swap in Bloomington. We are now looking for others that are interested. There are many ways to get involved: if you know how to sew and would like to help others learn how - we want you! Also, silk screeners, designers, and anyone else with the DIY spirit, please contact us! My email (laughing permitted): bear.o.death@gmail.com. Or leave a comment. Or use.. mind communication. Smoke signals? Sure! Messenger pigeons? Acceptable! For more information: http://www.swaporamarama.org http://makerfaire.com 7CommentReplyFlag
the_crumb_faery: bloomingtonsnb bloomingtonsnb bloomingtonsnb Tue, Nov. 6th, 2007 05:53 pm Sundays have always been the best days to meet up on and that is what it has always been in the past. I am in serious need of knitting pals and my hands are craving an hour or few to just relax and click away. I am not one to set up times and places but I love to push the idea along. My only concern about the Copper Cup is the seating. Is there enough room for a mob of knitters?! Timewise, anything afternoonish would be fine with me.What are some thoughts about the Runcible Spoon...perks (for those who indulge in any alcohol) is that they have their liquor license serving wines and beers as well as other fine beverages. I love the SPOON!Any thoughts? You can email me if need be @ zenkittyfee AT hotmail DOT com.-Fee Ward. Current Mood: ecstatic ecstatic2CommentReplyFlag
