BLUE JEAN SURGERY (original) (raw)
hello all,
since i'm really terrible at managing a community, i've taken the liberty of making all the members of blujean_surgery maintainers. so now all of you can turn this community into whatever you want it to be. :)
i decided since i don't log into lj regularly anymore, i should just cut the cord.
i bid you all a fond farewell!

since i don't have the time or motivation to do these projects i'm itching to do, i thought maybe i'd share the ideas i've found in hopes that i might live vicariously through you.
just kidding.
but anyway, i used to have this really old chair and the seat could be unscrewed, so i removed it and covered it with the backside of a pair of my dad's old jeans. seeing the back pockets on the seat of a chair is funny. like you're sitting on a butt or something. lol. i don't have it anymore, so i've been thinking about doing it again.
found this online
a refrigerator magnet
also, i found this today.
i kind of like the belt closure.
i'll try and explain this purse as best i can: i wanna cut a leg off of a pair of blue jeans--the longer, the better. if you cut the front of the top part off, you get your flap, right. well sew the bottom of the purse however deep you want it, leaving lots of excess fabric below that. cut from the bottom of the jeans to the seam at the bottom of the purse, cutting strips. fray them, make them different lengths, put beads or whatever the fuck you wanna do to them. i like that idea. i might go do that now...
happy slashing

Hi! I'm not new-ish, I've been watching this community for some time (because my favorite thing to alter, cut up, and revamp is blue jeans [but I don't discriminate, any color jeans are just fine too. Like green or purple] ^_~) . This is my first post here, just as a say hi kind of thing. This is a link to another post on another community- dstructionistas- where I posted my first ever community post on LJ. It's got two barbie accessory necklaces, a T-shirt and two of my famous/infamous (if you're where I live) jean skirts, which I basically live in. I hope you enjoy them, and I hope that this post is okay. I don't have a lot of computer time today or I'd just do another post with the pics. Thanks! ^_^

hello all!
just a short note from your appologetic but neglectful mod. i'm a student. i have no time on my hands for much of anything, let alone cutting up blue jeans or wasting as much time on the internet as i would like to. so if there is anyone who has time who would like to help moderate this community, leave a comment. i think i'll add the first two to comment as mods...

I've been looking all day trying to find out how to rip, and fray this pair of jeans that I have. I ust have had them for about 5 years now and I love them. They are those comfy jeans that you wear when you're having a bad day and you don't feel like moving off the couch! The back pocket tore and I want to try to make them look more worn, like the guy in that Levi's commercial, except I can't think of what he did to them, and I don't know what to do with mine? I don't want to paint on them or anything. I want them to look as old as they are and fray them in the right places.
ANY help from you guys would be great! Any suggestions on what to do would be wonderful as well.

Thought I'd say hi. I have a ton of old blue jeans that I just *can't* get rid of. I was so pleased to find this site; to find others who love old jeans as much as I do.
I had a friend in college who made a quilt out of blue jeans. It was really heavy and she said she loved that about it.
I am currently trying to get the right pieces together to make a coat for next winter. The first thing I do with an old pair of jeans is to take everything apart then iron the pieces. You can get some really neat fade markings that way. I also love the way you get the really dark color that was hidden in the seams.
I made a bolster pillow out of blue leather and used two jeans closures from some button-ups my husband had instead of a zipper. If anyone is interested I could put up a picture of it.
Well, just wanted to say hi.
