The complexity of the use in the system and approaches to providing care to citizens in Ukraine, and at the local level – the interaction of the obstetrician with the women, anaesthetist and also the technical capabilities of public maternity hospitals [1]. For the last decade, epidural analgesia has been the «golden» method in labor analgesia. We searched numerous meta-analyzes about pain management during labor and delivery in the United States, they prefer epidural analgesia in 80-90% of women, while in the UK - 36% [2, 3]. Statistics from around the world indicate a relationship between pain relief and income levels, so in high-income countries, (HICs) women are more likely to be anesthetized during childbirth than in South Africa or Asia [4]. Although childbirth is a physiological and natural process, it needs pa...

The incidence of hip fracture is high and also rises with the age, for example, In Great Britain, number of patients with a hip fracture will be approximately 100 000 in 2033, and it’s also associated with significant healthcare financing. Nevertheless, effective pain management is a big challenge for clinicians because of considerable problems in geriatric patients, including age, physiological changes in the elderly, preexisting comorbidities, cognitive impairment, high risk of delirium, problems with rehabilitation and probability of an independent life [12]. Opioids are still the main option for hip fracture pain management, despite differences in pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics in elderly patients, which are correlated with high frequency of side effects. Opioid-related adverse drug events are associated with worse pa...

The degree of a woman's suffering in childbirth depends on the intensity of labor pain and many indirect factors [2]. Complex interrelated effects on labor pain are limited by the little number of studies available. That is why it is necessary to determine the probable factors that may affect the intensity of pain. In accordance with this, determining predictors of the intensity of pain during vaginal delivery remains an important issue for the maternity health policy.Aim: Investigate predictors of severe labor pain.Method: A prospective observational study was conducted in the period from December 2020 to May 2021 at the Kyiv City Maternity Hospital №5 (Kyiv, Ukraine). Logistic regression was used to measure the influence of risk factors on the probability of severe labor pain. Results: The examined predictors were derived from mothers` self-report of overal...
