[Current Mood \|anxious]I'm sorry for like totally abandoning this community for awhile. I took a fast from Livejournal for about a month, and then have been too busy to spend much time on the computer...I'm praying about whether or not to continue this community... The Lord put it on my heart to ask someone to comoderate it with me... We'll see where He lead this place.Till then, I pray that the Lord will bless and keep each one of you, and that he'd fill you with his spirit.In Christ,Melissa

Our walks with God should be the most important thing in our lives...	[Jun. 26th, 2005\|08:17 am]bold_believers
[Current Mood \|Lord, help me...]Yesterday I was talking with Kathy and Misty... About what I wanted to take home from Mexico... As in... What did I want God to teach me? I shared with them my constant desire to just be in the Word daily... And that I really need the discipline to do so.Well, last night, the Lord laid this story on my heart to share with a friend, and I thought I'd share it with you all also. I found it in a book called "WHAT'S A GIRL TO DO?" It's about what does a girl do when looking for "Mr. Right". :-D ANYWHO, she had this illustration in there that is SO cool. Karla used to use it alot back when I was IN Children's Ministry... Lol... I was in 5th grade I believe when I first saw it... It's the coolest thing... and is so convicting...~"Think of a jar that is three-quarters full of rock, and another that is three-quarters full of sand.If you try to put the sand first, and then the rocks, they won't all fit. But if you put the rocks in first, and then pour the sand into the jar, the sand will fit AROUND the rocks. Our time with God needs to be like the rocks. FIRST. First to go into the jar. NONNEGOTIABLE. The sand is the endless list of other things that we have to do in life. It can all fit AROUND the rocks... or AROUND our walk with Christ."~I struggle so much with just being in the Word. It's hard for me to get up in the morning and open my Bible, rather than going to the computer so I can check my e-mail before I head to work. But really... God is so much more important than our e-mail, our job, our home, school activities, computer games, Halo, art, music, movies, etc.... He DESERVES to be FIRST in our lives... The ROCK that we build our lives on... Our only foundation. We can't build our lives on music, or movies, or friends. Well, we can, but it will all fail, because nothing is better and more important THAN OUR GOD...So doesn't His Word DESERVE to be read every morning? Yes...ouch

"That's why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good."Romans 8:28 (The Message)"And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose."Romans 8:28 (English Standard Version)Everything's planned... Don't worry!Every part of our life has been known by God since before the beginning of time. He knew exactly how many breaths we would breathe in our lifetime, how many wonderful things we would, how many mistakes we would make. Ther's a purpose for every little thing we do. And God will use them to show His glory to the people around us. But we have to be willing to be used by Him. By being "called according to His purpose" we are told to set aside ourselves, and to put on Christ. We are called to leave all our fleshly desires, our worldly possessions behind, and follow Him. When we do that, we will know that what we do will be glorifying unto Him, and that one day, we will see good in the bad, and all those times we were persecuted won't even matter, because once we reach the finish line (Heaven), nothing will matter but Jesus Christ. And we get to spend all of eternity with Him!

[Current Mood \|thoughtful]Place Your Life Before God 1So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life--your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life--and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. 2Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.Romans 12:1-2 THE MESSAGEI know that alot of people do not like the message, but the way this verse is written in it totally caught my eye. We are called to be SET APART from the world. We aren't supposed to look like them, act like them, talk like them, or be them. We are supposed to be Christ.That's what I want to do...
