豆瓣短评：第二遍。硕士课的教材，谁能想到我现在真的要specialize in nationalism了。。非常传统/正统的综述，入门必读，写得很好，还薄薄一册，喜欢。讲postmodern那部分是对的，但也确实落后了；Smith在本书用constructionist是极端用法(hope no students will critique constructionism out of context)；如果能在第二版多说下ethno-symbolism和Durkheim sacred的关系就好了，毕竟这是对他的最大争论之一，再讲下和primordialism的区别(cultural givens, sacred, symbolism, you have to discuss them together)
