Cevre sorunlarinin azalmasi icin izlenecek ilk yolun, cevre bilincine sahip bireyler yetistirilmesi oldugu arastirmacilar tarafindan vurgulanmaktadir. Bu bilince sahip insanlarin yetistirilmesinde cevre egitiminin rolu buyuktur. Bu calismada, Turkiye’deki ilkogretim programlarinda cevre egitimi ile ilgili konular belirlenmeye calisilmistir. Bu amacla, ilkogretim programlarindaki dersler, bu derslerde yer alan cevre ile ilgili ogrenme alanlari/temalar, unite ve kazanimlar belirlenmis, bu kazanimlar nitel arastirma yontemlerinden icerik analizi teknigi ile nitelik ve nicelik acisindan incelenmistir. Dokuman analizi seklinde gerceklestirilen bu incelemeler sonucunda, ilkogretim programlarindaki cevre ile ilgili toplam kazanim yuzdesinin %11,82 oldugu; bu kazanimlarin cevre ve ekoloji ile ilgili temel kavramlar, dunyanin yapisi, dogal afetler, kaynaklarin bilincli tuketimi, ...

The increases in environmental problems in recent years have caused the rise in the number of res... more The increases in environmental problems in recent years have caused the rise in the number of researches related to environment. Researchers have emphasized that the first way to reduce this damage is to raise people who have environmental literacy. Thus, environmental education plays a crucial role in raising people who are environmentally literate. In this study, the place of environmental issues in primary school curriculum in Turkey has been determined. For this purpose; a) the courses that are related to environmental education have been specified, b) the themes, units and objectives in these courses have been determined, c) these objectives have been analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively. Asa result of this analysis, which has been carried out as a content analysis, the total percentage of the objectives related to the environmental issues is found to be 11,82 %. This shows that learning is a process not only accomplished during the school life, but also through the whole life. In additon to being an important determinant of academic achievement, self-regulation skills are also crucial factors that contribute to individuals’ life-long learning processes. The purpose of this study is to present a theoretical viewponit about self-regulated learning, which has a considerable effect on individuals’ life-long learning. In this point of view, self-regulated learning definitions, models, theories that these models are based on, characteristcs of sef-regulated learners, teachers role in learning environment are considered, as well as the the focal points of the recent researches related to this topic have been detected and presented for the purpose of lighting the way for the new researches....

This study aims to reveal the extent to which 7th grade students are able to integrate the "use o... more This study aims to reveal the extent to which 7th grade students are able to integrate the "use of elements" topic into different disciplines, to determine their way of accomplishing this integration. The study is conducted with 37 seventh grade students in a private school in Istanbul in 2008-2009. Integration of Elements Test (IET) is administered both as a pretest and a posttest and activity sheets are formed to be used during the treatment. After the completion of the treatment, a semi-structured interview is conducted with 4 randomly selected students and they are videotaped and analyzed qualitatively.
