Optimism, burnout and secondary traumatic stress, but not coping strategies, self-efficacy, compassion satisfaction, or self-compassion, mediated both the relationship between pre-pandemic stress and resilience and COVID-19 stress and resilience. Increased job demands caused by the pandemic, the nature and duration of COVID-19 stress may explain this finding. Training and supervision practices can help MHPPs deal with job demands under circumstances of general and extreme stress.

Therefore, the main aim of this study was to investigate how the pandemic affected the mental health and wellbeing of Mental Health Psychology Practitioners and the strategies they employed to demonstrate resilience. The study used an exploratory, inductive, qualitative approach, featuring semi-structured interviews with nine MHPPs who performed their duties during the COVID-19 pandemic. Thematically analysed data (Braun & Clarke, 2013) identified three main themes (consisting of two subthemes each), ranging from experiences of vicarious traumatisation, personal vs. professional identity, through to the strategies participants employ to demonstrate resilience and maintain their wellbeing. This paper focuses on the latter the...

However, there is still a large room for research and discussion and linguistics can contribute enormously to our understanding of emotions, especially in terms of cultural differences in experiencing, expressing and recognizing them. It is widely acknowledged that emotions have evolved to facilitate both survival and social goals and thus, they are to some extent universal, but simultaneously culture-shaped. The main aim of this paper is to examine possible differences in conceptualisation of a self-conscious emotion, i.e., pride, in Polish and British English. The material from two corpora, namely the National Corpus of Polish (NKJP) and the British National Corpus (BNC) was compared. The analysis has shown that the metaphors used in both languages are similar at a general level, however the sub-types and specific metaphorical expressions differ. Considering that metaphors can have evaluative value, Polish duma seems to be evaluated as more positive than English ‘pride’ probably because in Polish there are two different concepts of duma and pycha, which in English are described with the same term ‘pride’.

Empirically we draw on interviews with two groups of Polish-born parents: Polish parents who have migrated to Norway and Polish parents living in Poland. Norway and Poland are relevant cases for our exploration because they represent different types of welfare states, which have followed different paths towards their current family policy package. In our analysis of actual work-family adaptations we found a convergence towards gender-equal dual-earner/dual-carer arrangements in both groups, although there were differences in the level of agency. Polish parents in Poland felt less entitled to use the measures available to them, and sometimes refrained from using them, compared to Polish parents in Norway who expressed a strong sense of agency in using family policy measures to create a good life in Norway and as part of a project of change towards more gender-equal sharing of work and care responsibilities. The analysis confirms the strong link between family practices and family policies, but also illustrates how the effect of policies on practices may be hampered or boosted by the wider historical-cultural context of the society in question. In conclusion, in analyses of the link between policy and practice it may be fruitful to distinguish between family policy packages the concrete set of entitlements for working parentsand family policy regimes, meaning policies in their wider context, including migrancy as a mediating factor.

Currently, there is no legislation directly governing the principles of the protection of workers against psychosocial risks and procedures in this regard. The publication presents a proposal for a model of psychosocial risk management in the health protection of workers. The proposed model is based on the principles of the European model of psychosocial risk management (PRIMA-EF) and the system of prophylactic care of employees functioning in Poland. In this model, the emphasis is placed on primary prevention, focused on organization. Risk management is a continuous process which takes place at five stages: 1. Stosownie do dyrektyw europejskich w dziedzinie bezpieczeństwa i higieny pracy oraz w obliczu konieczności przygotowania narodowej strategii i programu ochrony zdrowia pracujących, w najbliższych latach niezbędne będzie w Polsce powszechne wdrożenie programów przeciwdziałania stresowi w miejscu pracy. Realizacja działań antystresowych wymaga zaangażowania we wszystkich etapach zarządzania wielu interesariuszy: pracodawcy, pracowników, służby medycyny pracy i in. Podsumowanie. Polska aktualnie posiada już pewien potencjał, jeśli chodzi o możliwości opracowania i wdrożenia nowego systemu ochrony zdrowia pracujących, uwzględniającego ochronę przez zagrożeniami psychospołecznymi. Konieczne są jednak działania w zakresie doskonalenia kompetencji przyszłych realizatorów zadań, związanych z przeciwdziałaniem stresowi zawodowemu.

Moreover, previous studies on psychosocial risks and occupational stress among professional musicians have used a wide variety of measurement methods.
