I haven't had a drinking session like yesterday in a long time. I only woke up at 12.15pm and by 1pm I met up with Phil, Jonny and alphabetzoo in the Albion which is a newly done up gastro-type pub. I had some very tasty braised Aberdeen Angus. After, we went to the Clifton Sausage and then to The Mall for more drinks. 7pm swung by quickly and I headed into town to meet Baby Tom and DJ. Phil and Jonny walked down with me and we had a drink at the King William. Alas when Baby Tom and DJ turned up, the barman would not serve them becuase they did not have ID. They are both well into their 20s. We went to Renatos instead. It was good chatting to DJ cos it is not something I have done a great deal of in the past.
Sometime around midnight I headed up to La Rocca. The club is owned by Tony, my landlady's husband. They didn't let me in for about 5 minutes because I did not have a girl with me. I tried explaining I was meeting girls inside but this was not good enough for the doorman. I eventually rang someone already there who got Tony to wave me in. I have to say I did feel quite smug and I patted the doorman on the back as I walked past him. It turned out there were only about 50 or so people in the club. I really dislike doorman who are unnecessarily obnoxious.
I eventually got home around 4.30am. My body is pissed off with me today but I had a lot of fun and it was good setting the world to rights with Phil, Jonny and Terry over some wine. We must do it again sometime.
I am hiding away today and I think I will watch some cheesy film. Hangovers make me sentimental. Amongst other things.
