For the past 3 years Ive been on the TV viewing figures panel. This means when I watch a show it is as if 10,000 people are watching it. If you go here then you can see the national viewing data which I am a small part of.

I get paid a bit of money each month for doing this which has built up to £300. It is no great hardship having a box by each of the TVs. I simply press a button on a remote each time I turn the TV on and as I watch TV so infrequently it probably works out at about £1 for each time I vegetate.

This afternoon I rang them up to have the money sent to me. They said they'd call me back and when I got home from work I discovered they had tried calling my landline. My answerphone message on the landline is the first part of Rolf Harris's Two Little Boys:

The guy leaving the message didn't mean to actually leave a message, he just forgot to disconnect the call. I heard him joking to a colleague about the answerphone message and he then started to sing the song. They then chatted a bit about getting pissed in Hyde Park. Part of me wishes they had said something controversial or absuive about what I watch on the telly. Then maybe that £300 might have been able to multiply.
