Tad: The only way directly from the tower to the roof would be to jump from the window onto the roof. The roof of the garrison is about 5 feet below the window and behind the tower, it would be a tough jump and if you miss you would fall to the ground.
The sounds of battle fill the garrison. Some of the mercenaries open the front doors to meet the rebels head on, and from the towers you can hear the clashing of steel and screams of agony. "Go Go Go! Kill them, now is our chance!" Yells the leader of the soldiers as men start to pour through out the door. From the windows of the towers you can see the carnage below.

OK, continuation of the campaign today. I want to say a couple things first, I want to try a new hous rule. When a charachter is shot by a bolt or an arrow, the arrow (or bolt) will be stuck in the charachter. To remove it, you must either take a free action and pull it out which causes equal damage to the damage you took when it hit you, or make a heal check at DC 10+damage. Making the heal check is a full round action, and you may take 10 or take 20. If you fail the heal check, the person with the arrow in them takes half the initial damage (rounded down). for example, lets say.. Sam gets show by an arrow and takes 5 points of damage, he can either remove it as a free action and take 5 points or make a heal check (or get someone to make one on him) at DC 15. If the check passes, it is safely removed, if the check fails he takes 2 points of damage.
Also, as for combat, I will post a summary of the situation and then make a thread in the comments titled "ROUND ONE" and you keep all your actions for round one in that thread. It will just help keep everything organized.

Okay, I will probably have something for you guys to do on monday, I want to wait for cory and jordy to have charachters before I start any real adventuring, I might have something up today for people who want to explore town a little before we kick off.
Also, I want to test a little bit of a crit-effect system. anyone who suffers a critical hit will be only able to take one move or standard action a round, for a number of MINUTS equal to the damage taken, so if you get whacked for a 30 HP crit hit, you will be down to one standard or one move action a round for half an hour. UNLESS someone makes a successful heal check of damage taken+10. also there will be permenant damage done on crit hits, such as gouged eyes, loss of teeth, severed limbs, punctured organs, broken bones and so on.

Okay, I am going to have to trust you guys here, because we are using the honor system, its no fun if you guys are little cheater-poos.
That being said, roll 4D6 and take the 3 highest and add them together. Do that 6 times. You can roll up to 4 sets and take the best.

I figured i should give you guys some basic info on the races of this campaigns, where they live and such. If you wanna start making charachters post as much as you want on here, make as much background as you want with the info provided. make them level 1.

Okay chaps, I want to try and get this ball rolling. I need to know who wants to play D&D over the livejournal. I will DM of course, I think Levi and Jordy were interested, as well as Mike and Cory, need to try to get in touch with Sam. It is open to anyone who wants to play, and you can have more than one charachter (I.E. you decide that the main group is too slow, so you make a new guy to go off adventuring by yourself, or maybe you and one other person will make a good team) but of course, the great limiting factor in this equation is yours truely. I will probably not have a ton of time monday and tuesdays, the rest of the weekdays will have some spare time, but it depends on my classes. So let me know who wants to play, and I am going to lie down some fundamentals today.

So I'm really starting to miss D&D, and I was thinking about maybe trying to do an online thing. Like, via e-mail, or even through this LJ. I could just post an entry, and in the comments you can chose what you want to do and I will reply. Or we could use MSN or something and do group stuff that way. Combat would be difficult to resolve outside of a messenger program.
SO let me know what you guys think.
