Here it is. The final episode of Battlestar Galactica (the reimagined series). Hang on to your seats, because ---- love it or hate it -- it was one hell of a ride.

((below the cut is a graphics-heavy picspam only))

( jump!Collapse )

  1. The ending.... love it or hate it?
  2. Which character's "ending" did you like the most? Which the least?
  3. Did the flashbacks (or anything, really) change your opinion about any of the characters?
  4. What would you have changed, if anything?
  5. Other thoughts?

Previously..... Brother Cavil had special plans for Hera at the Cylon Colony while Admiral Adama finally decided that he has to abandon the Galactica.

( jump!Collapse )

Here's a recap that's better than anything I could write at the moment anyway :(

  1. How did you feel about the flashbacks?
  2. What was your favorite flashback scene? Least favorite?
  3. How did you feel about the plan to split up and take the Galactica to find the Cylon fleet?

QUESTIONS
- It's nice to see Baltar go back to being a scientist for a moment, since that's how he started before he moved to politician and then religious leader. Do you think it was the creators' way of noting the similarities between the three?
- Three cheers for medical marijuana. Does the fleet have a special hyrdroponics bay for that, or did they steal some from the cylons?
- What were your thoughts about Kara's 'reveal'?

P.S. Many apologies for the long and sporadic delays in this community.

My apologies for the long break between recaps! I bring you "Someone to Watch Over Me."

Current Music: Kara Remembers - Bear McCreary

This episode lacks a lot of the action we've been seeing lately. However, it does flesh out the cylon/colonial merger and I absolutely loved Ellen's return to the fleet.

***Sorry for the brevity and LONG hiatus, folks. :D
screencaps from frak-that.com

My sincere apologies for the unintended hiatus. I seem to have drifted off a bit.

The following episodes are open if anyone would like to volunteer to post the recap.

<-- 4.16 ~ Deadlock
<-- 4.18 ~ Islanded in a Stream of Stars
<-- 4.19 ~ Daybreak Part 1

If you are interested, please let me know.

Also, I've contacted the folks who signed up for 4.17 & 4.20 just to check in since it's been so long.

Once again, sorry for the unintended break. Five episodes left.... :( We'll get back on track in the next couple of week in either case. Thank you for your patience.

So, this episode was pretty widely criticized when it aired by a lot of people (including me) for having such an ungodly amount of OOC exposition in it. But personally, I've come to appreciate it more in retrospect and I sort of... love it now? So much so that I'm going to give it my most giant-sized refrak picspam and recap yet? You'll understand why it took me so long to post this!

Previously on Battlestar Galatica, Felix Gaeta was the most hilariously badass telephone operator in the Fleet. Oh, and he took over the ship with Zarek.

(Disclaimer: I am 150% on Team Mutiny, so this recap will probably reflect some bitterness on my part.)

( Blood on the ScalesCollapse )

Trivia: this episode was #6 in Entertainment Weekly's top ten TV episodes of 2009, and the only BSG ep on its top 100 of all time list. \m/

The Restaurants Shaped Like Food scene was not in the original script. Alessandro Juliani and James Callis independently lobbied the writers for closure between Baltar and Gaeta. Bless their hearts.

DISCUSS!
--Were you on Team Mutiny or Team Snowflake Adama? Why? (Sorry, I didn't mean to annoy/offend people with that. Apparently I'm even more bitter than I thought.)
--What were your original thoughts (if any) on what TPTB were going for with all the emphasis on Gaeta's leg?
--What (if any) good do you think the mutiny did?
--Might Felix have been spared execution if it had been known that he had ordered the weapons hold?
--Other thoughts?

The Colonial’s epic quest to find the 13th colony has turned to dust and hope was effectively ground into the dirt. The last episode was largely about giving up and with this episode, perhaps it’s about starting over.

( jump!Collapse )

  1. The fuel ship was obviously targeted because it provides a much needed commodity. Why did the fuel ship follow Zarek? Had they forgotten what Chief had done on their behalf, or does that even count anymore now that he’s a cylon?

  2. Is Zarek right? Cylons have been the enemy for a long time, is it really a good idea to trust them or would a revolution now simply decimate humanity all together?

  3. Tigh and Adama seem to have made up. Thankfully the bromance is intact. Agree? Disagree? Should Adama have forgiven him so readily?

  4. I mentioned at the beginning of this post that perhaps this episode was about starting over. Even if we forge a new life for ourselves, we are still plagued by the baggage of what has come before. Are the survivors, human and cylon, ready to move on? Is that even the point?

  5. Other thoughts?
