Bargeboard Also called vergeboard or gableboard

A board, often ornately carved or pierced, fixed to the projecting edge of a gable roofCut out bargeboad

Commonly found in Gothic Revival architecture (1830-1860), Queen Anne architecture (1880-1910), and Tudor Revival architecture (early 20th century).

In Eastlakeand Queen Anne styles, carved vergeboards sometimes include scroll-sawn cutouts, bull's eyes, beaded spindles, turnedspindles, sunbursts, or (drop) pendants.
