Numbers

Braun (1963) recognized 48 North American species in this group (1); an addition 4 species have been described since then (see print references below).

Food

As far as is known, all species have hosts in Asteraceae, with the exception of two reported from Lamiaceae (1) and one from Colubrina texensis (Rhamnaceae) (Blanchard & Knudson 1985).

Remarks

Nearly half the North American species are in this group (1).
