Tell us about yourself...

My name is Phuong. I’m 20 years old, a university student and I live in Sydney. I’ve always been interested in the creative arts; drawing, painting and photography are some of my biggest hobbies.

Who or what inspired you to start photography?

Well, I’d have to say my father inspired me start photography by bringing a camera wherever I went. It started out as a bunch of snapshots of my life, then I started seeing photography as an art when browsing deviantART and other art/photography websites, began shooting things that interested me, and developed my passion for it.

Who are your favorite artist(s)?

It is hard to pick just a few great photographers to highlight; there are so many who inspire me, and many of them are from deviantART.

What is your favorite type of photography?

Macro, nature and still life… though I’m also looking into other types like landscape, street and urban photography.

Is your photography a hobby or job?

It is a hobby.

What type of media or special techniques do you use?

I don’t actually own many fancy photography tools. I simply use my DSLR and sometimes a compact camera. To edit, I use Photoshop.

What do you enjoy most about photography?

I love the ability to capture extraordinary moments in life into still, beautiful images. I love that I can turn a mundane setting into a piece of art that others will enjoy.

What other special interests do you have other than creating art?

I like reading, origami, music, movies and TV.

9.

What is your passion or dream in life?

I’d love to travel the world and experience the many wonderful cultures our planet has to offer.

Look to your left, what do you see?

On my left is a wall containing two calendars, a bunch of Post-it notes, origami hearts, footprint cut-outs, a clock and a picture of myself when I was 5.

Favorite song: There are so many songs that I love. I can’t choose just one!
Favorite book: It’s not an official favourite, but I recently fell in love with The Fault in Our Stars by John Green.
Something you Collect: Something you Collect: Train tickets. I’ve been collecting them for five years... Not really sure why. I just keep them all in a box.
