PBS canceled an episode of Buster (a cartoon rabbit that travels and videotapes what he sees, the videotapes are real people, not cartoons or actors) because Buster went to Vermont and visits a family that has 2 mommies (lesbians). They canceled it because Margaret Spelling (new secretary of education 202-401-2000) wrote them to complain that "Many parents would not want their young children exposed to the lifestyles protrayed in the episode". (Did she think they would have sex or make out in the middle of the show?)First of all..there are ALL kinds of families. Families raised by a single mom or single father (hey, maybe even born out of wedlock....but that "lifestyle" would be ok because, even though they are "sinners" at least they are not GAY), there are families put together by adoption, or children raised by an aunt or grandparent. So what are we telling our kids by not airing this show? We are telling them that not all families are ok. That some families are wrong or unexceptable. I am so FLIPPING angry. What is next? Obesity is a problem with American children. Are they going to do away with the cookie monster. Hey, who likes the homeless..right? Let's get rid of Oscar the grouch. I guess because spongebob held hands with his pal, Patrick..the far right has decided he is gay and parents should be WARNED. GOD FORBID 2 little boys, that are friends, should be allowed to hold hands. We should throw GI Joe in there face instead. "DON'T hold hands son, shot him. Blow his brains out." What the hell???????? In a letter dispatched to every Senator, which will be officially published by his office shortly, Conyers declares that he will be joined in this by several other members of the House. Rep. Conyers is taking this dramatic step because he believes the allegations and evidence of election tampering and fraud render the current slate of Ohio Electors illegitimate. "As you know," writes Rep. Conyers in his letter, "on January 6, 2005, at 1:00 P.M, the electoral votes for the election of the president are to be opened and counted in a joint session of Congress. I and a number of House Members are planning to object to the counting of the Ohio votes, due to numerous unexplained irregularities in the Ohio presidential vote, many of which appear to violate both federal and state law."Entire ArticleIf you want to help support fair election results- see THIS!Want to help even more... post this all in YOUR journal!X-Posted everywhere | | | | | | (make your voice heard)

I'll post this thing here, too, since it seems kind of appropriate. For those of you who want to find some good things for Bush, read MacHall, whether or not you like the humor or art. Just read it because of Matt Boyd and his updates of articles. (And the rest is for people who game a lot. Because of Ian. Ian = Games, Matt = Politics. Both together? = <3333)I read MacHall often, and Matt Boyd updates with some pretty good news articles and stuff. They're interesting.Like here's one from eXile. It's pretty uhh... controversial, I guess. Someone -must- be angry on both sides.("Wrong again. They voted AGAINST Kerry because he looks and talks like an outsider. These people hate outsiders. They shoot outsiders who come onto their property. Bush has the same stupid, beady-eyed look as the rest of the red state inbreds." There's a land that is private property for Mormens in Orange County somewhere. I'm told they're -exactly- like that.)And this. While you're at it, make it illegal! So tht people can't be gay, and we can't get rid of children(except by miscarriage), EVEN IF THEY GOT PREGNANT FROM BEING RAPED BY SOME BASTARD ON THE STREET, FORCE THEM TO HAVE IT! Hells! Why not just tell us how to live, and that we should abide by the ten commandments ALL DAY EVERY DAY! Even if the most people are christian that steal(and I have some facts that are proven on this one), lie, commit adultery, overeat, rebel against parents, and so on.Nothing against a lot of Christians, I still just could care less.Nope, there really is no separation from church and state. | | | | | | (1 started a revolution | make your voice heard)

| FIRST POST! | | | | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | | 02:58pm 03/11/2004 | | | | | mood: discontent I know that I am not the only one here who is angered by the results of this election. I'm quite angry at America's Youth for being LAZY and not going out to vote like they should have. Yes, yes, I know some of you went out to vote, but the majority didn't. Only 17 percent and that's the same as the 2000 election. Since we didn't make a difference by "ROCKING THE VOTE" or whatever, we can still try to make a difference now. Plan protests or get petitions against Bush, if that's what you think is necessary, but please, DO NOT BE VIOLENT, that would just have us stooping to their level. I know impeachment may not be likely, but it's still a goal. And there ARE instances where you can impeach whole cabinets, so if an impeachment DOES happen, we won't get stuck with Cheney for president. Also, try to get more people to register to vote for the next election in two years for Governor.Just please, try to do what you can to stop our country from going to hell in a handbasket. | | | | | | (10 started a revolution | make your voice heard) | | | | | |
