- OCNI commemorates Louis Riel Day, which is held every year on November 16th, the anniversary of Riel's execution in 1885. Louis Riel was executed for leading the Northwest Resistance in defence of Métis rights. Louis Riel was the leader of the Provisional Government of the Red River Settlement, negotiating with the government of Canada to establish Manitoba as a Province in 1870. Known as a leader, politician, and a father of Confederation, Métis communities use this day to commemorate their culture, rights, and contributions to Canada. Riel's legacy is still felt today in Manitoba and across the country. As we proceed on our shared journey to reconciliation, we will continue to recognize the importance of building a renewed relationship based on Métis rights, respect for distinct Métis history and culture, and collaboration with Métis communities.

Rebuild Ukraine is an important conference here in Warsaw this week focusing on the hundreds of billions of dollars that are and will be needed to repair, modernize and secure Ukraine's infrastructure - nuclear energy and otherwise. I'm pleased to be here supporting Ontario's Minister of Energy and Electrification Stephen Lecce and Natural Resources Canada (NRCan)'s Team Canada Pavilion. Minister Lecce spoke on an International panel on support for Ukraine, emphasizing Ontario's ongoing commitment - something OCNI and our members have been active in through our partnership with Energoatom. Great to meet up with colleagues Bernhard Otterstein and Areta Kempińska from the Polish Canadian Chamber of Commerce, BWXT Canada's Jun Tang and Toronto Board of Trade's Dominic Roszak. Whether the issue is clean energy, reliable base load or energy security, the Canadian Nuclear Supply chain has what you need Dagmara Peret Organization of Canadian Nuclear Industries Rudy Cuzzetto - OCNI was excited to attend today's Canadian Nuclear Association Workforce Planning Forum in Toronto, a collaborative effort to tackle the most pressing workforce challenges in the nuclear sector. This vital event provided a platform to exchange insights, explore innovative recruitment and retention strategies, and discuss priorities for workforce planning across the industry. Key questions addressed included: What key business objectives should workforce planning support? What’s working well, and how can it be scaled? What major hurdles must we overcome?
