Trade ties have existed between Sweden and Brazil for years, dating back to when Ericsson supplied the first telephone in 1891. In fact, since 2009, Sweden has had a strategic partnership with Brazil in areas such as trade, bio-energy, and science. Today, Sweden continues to focus on innovation. There are areas of growing interest between the two economies including technology, green construction, and transportation infrastructure. “Swedish solutions are recognized internationally for a high level of innovation focused on sustainability,” commented Grazyna Sotta, consultant with the Swedish Trade Council. “As Brazil goes green, the cooperation between the two countries has all the opportunities to become deeper.”
