The superconducting transition temperatures are up to 27 K in SrFe 2 As 2 and 29 K in BaFe 2 As 2 , making these the highest pressure-induced superconducting materials discovered thus far.

High-sensitivity Al NMR data at 70 kbar for Al metal are presented for the first time. An expected decrease in the Al Knight shift at 70 kbar is observed, as well as an unexpected change in the local charge symmetry at the Al nucleus. The latter is not predicted by chemical structure analysis under high pressure.

We present the observation of an isostructural Mott insulator–metal transition in van-der-Waals honeycomb antiferromagnet V0.9PS3 through high-pressure x-ray diffraction and transport measurements. We observe insulating variable-range-hopping type resistivity in V0.9PS3, with a gradual increase in effective dimensionality with increasing pressure, followed by a transition to a metallic resistivity temperature dependence between 112 and 124 kbar. The metallic state additionally shows a low-temperature upturn we tentatively attribute to the Kondo effect. A gradual structural distortion is seen between 26 and 80 kbar, but ...

The applicability and potential breakdown of traditional field theories of quantum criticality and the emergence of a multiplicity of critical fields in particular will be discussed.

Using the Shubnikov-de Haas effect, we find that the Fermi surface sheet believed to be primarily responsible for superconductivity becomes more twodimensional with increasing pressure, a surprising result that is, however, consistent with a recent model of orbital-dependent superconductivity in this system. Many-body enhancements and the superconducting transition temperature all fall gradually with increasing pressure, contrary to previous suggestions of a ferromagnetic quantum critical point at 3 GPa.

At zero pressure the ground state is antiferromagnetically ordered. Under pressure the antiferromagnetic order is suppressed and a superconducting phase is induced, with a maximum T c above a quantum critical point around 31 kbar. To investigate the changes in the Fermi Surface and effective electron masses around the quantum critical point, Shubnikov-de Haas measurements were conducted under high pressures in an anvil cell. The samples were micro-structured and contacted using a Focused Ion Beam (FIB). The Focused Ion Beam enables sample contacting and structuring down to a sub-micrometer scale, making the measurement of several samples with complex shapes and multiple contacts on a single anvil feasible.
