Helicobacter pylori represents the main risk factor, being responsible for 78% of the cases. Increased amounts of salt, pickled food, red meat, alcohol, smoked food, and refined sugars negatively affect the stomach wall, contributing to GC development. Several gene mutations, including PIK3CA, TP53, ARID1A, CDH1, Ras, Raf, and ERBB3 are encountered in GC pathogenesis, leading to phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K) protein kinase B (AKT)/mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR)-PI3K/AKT/mTOR-and mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling pathway activation and promoting tumoral activity. Helicobacter pylori, growth factors, cytokines, hormones, and oxidative stress also activate both pathways, enhancing GC development. In clinical trials, promising results have come from monoclonal antibodies such as trastuzumab and ramucirumab. Dual inhibitors targeting the PI3K/AKT/mTOR and MAPK signaling pathways were used in vitro studies, also with promising results. The main aim of this review is to present GC incidence and risk factors and the dysregulations of the two protein kinase complexes together with their specific inhibitors.

From a clinical point of view, BMS can present itself in 2 forms: the primary/essential form, whose etiopathogenesis is unexplained, justifying the permanent concern as a topic of research at the international level, and the secondary form, in which the causes of the syndrome can be identified and treated/ removed, allowing healing. Particular to the primary form of BMS is the discrepancy between the extent of subjective pain felt by the patient as “burning” and the lack of any objective (clinical) signs in the oral mucosa. In this form of BMS, the pathogenesis of pain can be explained by invoking the role and importance of the field and some favourable factors. In recent years it has been noticed that changes in taste perception a...

The use of these therapeutic means in secondary BMS is recommended to be established as a first step of therapeutic conduct. Their success is reflected in homeostasis restoring, correcting morphological and functional changes of the field, which frequently leads to no longer use prescription of symptomatic treatment.

The efficacy of experimental Vipera ammodytes antivenom raised in sheep was determined using in vivo mouse lethality test, respectively, L-aminoacid oxidase, total proteinase and phospholipase A 2 antienzymatic effectiveness. The values gained for the antivenom potency depend on the method of measure. So, some of the most toxic venom proteins own phospholipase A 2 activity and provide the highest antivenom potency (lowest effective dose) values by antienzymatic assay method. This value is similar with total antiproteolytic antivenom potency value, but almost three times higher than value obtained by L-aminoacid oxidase (low toxic viper venom protein) antienzymatic assay method.

Methods: A prospective study was carried out in the period 2014-2020 in which 113 patients with benign pancreatic pathology treated surgically admitted to the CF2 Clinical Hospital in Bucharest were included. For this study, the statistical method of simple linear regression was applied. Results: Patients' quality of life can also be influenced by the level of social support and medical care they receive. A strong support network, which can provide emotional and practical support, as well as access to appropriate and specialist medical care, can play an important role in managing symptoms and improving patients' quality of life. In the specialized literature, the coexistence of an inflammatory process is admitted from the early stages of the evolution of this pathology. Starting from the importance of this process, both in determinism and in the evolution of carcinogenesis and summarizing the field of knowledge, for this study we considered two objectives: the first was the presentation of the pathogenic mechanism, through which chronic +ovarian inflammation is involved in the process of carcinogenesis, and the second is the justification of the clinical utility of the three parameters, accepted as biomarkers of systemic inflammation: neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio, platelet lymphocyte ratio, and lymphocyte-monocyte ratio in the assessment of prognosis. The study highlights the acceptance of these hematological parameters, with practical utility, as prognostic biomarkers in ovarian cancer, based on the i...

International Journal of Immunopathology and Pharmacology

Burn healing should be regarded as a dynamic process consisting of two main, interrelated phases:... more Burn healing should be regarded as a dynamic process consisting of two main, interrelated phases: (a) the inflammatory phase when neutrophils and monocytes infiltrate the injury site, through localized vasodilation and fluid extravasation, and (b) the proliferative-remodeling phase, which represents a key event in wound healing. In the skin, both canonical autophagy (induced by starvation, oxidative stress, and environmental aggressions) and non-canonical or selective autophagy have evolved to play a discrete, but, essential, “housekeeping” role, for homeostasis, immune tolerance, and survival. Experimental data supporting the pro-survival roles of autophagy, highlighting its Yang, luminous and positive feature of this complex but insufficient explored molecular pathway, have been reported. Autophagic cell death describes an “excessive” degradation of important cellular components that are necessary for normal cell function. This deadly molecular mechanism brings to light the darker...

Prolonging the lifespan of individuals and increasing the frequency of heart failure from 1-2% in the adult population, regardless of age, to 10-12% in people over 70 explains the worldwide interest in identifying biomarkers and in this condition, regardless of etiology, which offers the possibility of complex assessment of the condition, including the prognosis.

The calculations for the serum average concentration/lot/date, were made, subsequent, using the values of the tested parameters regarding MPO (admission and discharge) the mean concentration/lot was made, regardless of time of determination. The calculated average values analyses of the three MPO serum parameters were constantly elevated and permanently matched the myocardial contractility deficiency class. The integrated data of the study, allows us to propose the MPO’s circulating concentration as a diagnosis and risk assessment biomarker in the etiology of myocardial ischemia for chronic cardiac failure.
