JO Fletcher | University of Canterbury/Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha (original) (raw)
Dr Jo Fletcher has been actively researching in several areas. Recently, she has led a multisite case study qualitative research project in a wide range of primary and intermediate schools. The investigation explored the views of principals, teachers, parents and students on supporting reading, mathematics and how elearning can be used to motivate learning. This case study investigation also explored the participants’ experiences during and after the Christchurch earthquakes.
Her PhD addressed better understandings of the wider systemic factors that support 11- to 13-year-old students in reading.
At present she is engaged in research with Professor Niki Davis and Dr Julie Mackey exploring a case study of leadership in a school using professional communities of practice in flexible learning spaces.
