ABSTRACT The anticorrosion potency of Sabic mild steel (MS) in 0.5 M H2SO4 solution was enhanced ... more ABSTRACT The anticorrosion potency of Sabic mild steel (MS) in 0.5 M H2SO4 solution was enhanced by three synthetic non-ionic surfactants (NI Surf.) containing pyridine and pyrimidine derivatives. These compounds are safe, environmentally friendly, and harmless to human health. Chemical and electrochemical measurements were used to compute the corrosion parameters. The anticorrosion efficacy increases with increasing the concentration of NI Surf. and with lowering temperature, surface and interfacial tension, and critical micelle concentration. The effectiveness of anticorrosion is interpreted due to the spontaneous horizontal adsorption on the surface of MS by the existence of some active centers that facilitate the adsorption. The adsorption process obeys Temkin isotherm. Potentiodynamic polarization elucidated that the synthetic NI Surf. acted as mixed-type inhibitors. Some surface properties were determined and confirm the anticorrosive effect of these molecules. Quantum chemical parameters as reactivity descriptors were carried out. It should be noted that the results obtained from computational calculations of the specifications are in full agreement with the experimental observations. There is good compatibility between the anticorrosion efficiency obtained from various techniques and surface properties and quantum chemical calculation. GRAPHICAL ABSTRACT
RESUMO A sociedade da informação demanda sujeitos que sejam formados para um mundo pautado na pro... more RESUMO A sociedade da informação demanda sujeitos que sejam formados para um mundo pautado na produção e disseminação de conhecimento, que saibam fazer usos reflexivos das mídias. Essa premissa é defendida por instituições como a Unesco que relaciona o domínio de habilidades de usos técnicos e críticos das mídias para que haja inserção social. Nesta perspectiva o presente artigo discutir a relação de jovens estudantes da Região do Baixo São Francisco, em Sergipe, com as mídias enquanto elementos da formação pessoal e profissional numa sociedade pautada pela mediação das TDIC. Para tanto é feita uma análise de respostas dadas a 48 questionários compostos por 10 questões fechadas, respondidas por Escala Likert e baseadas nos aspectos defendidos pela Unesco como basilares para a formação na Sociedade da Informação. Esses questionários foram aplicados junto a jovens estudantes do ensino médio profissionalizante da Rede Pública de Sergipe e moradores da região do Baixo São Francisco. As respostas mostram que esses jovens têm acesso às mídias e as utilizam principalmente para atividades de entretenimento, sem compreender os aspectos críticos e reflexivos inerentes à mídia e nem o papel dela enquanto elemento de sociedades democráticas.

Chemically modified Ocimum basilicum leaves powder (CMOBLP) adsorbent was used for the eliminatio... more Chemically modified Ocimum basilicum leaves powder (CMOBLP) adsorbent was used for the elimination of Methylene Blue (MB) from aqueous solutions. The morphology of CMOBLP was identified by microscopy of scanning electron and Fourier transform infrared technics. The porosity and surface area of the prepared CMOBLP have also been determined by applying a Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) surface analyzer. The influences of MB primary concentration, temperature, sorption time, and solution pH were studied. The parameters of kinetics were evaluated, and the obtained results suggest that MB sorption by CMOBLP follows the model of the second-order. Thermodynamic outcomes pointed to that the MB sorption by CMOBLP is exothermic and spontaneous. Isotherm models of Langmuir, Freundlich, and Temkin were applied, and the experimental data were fitted well with the model of Langmuir, proposing monolayer sorption. The present study strongly reveals that CMOBLP is a very effective adsorbent. The sorption capacities of 714.29, 666.67, 625.00, and 555.56 mg/g were obtained at 20°C, 30°C, 40°C, and 50°C, respectively.

Some commercial non-ionic surfactants polysorbate, namely, polysorbate 80, polysorbate 40 and pol... more Some commercial non-ionic surfactants polysorbate, namely, polysorbate 80, polysorbate 40 and polysorbate 20, were tested as inhibitors for corrosion of C-steel in 2.0M HCl solution using weight loss, potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy techniques. It was found that all the three used compounds act as inhibitors for acid corrosion of C-steel. The inhibition efficiencies obtained by the three techniques were almost the same, and increase with increasing the hydrocarbon chain length and the surfactant concentration. The polarization studies show that these compounds act as mixed inhibitors. The inhibition action of these surfactants can be explained by their ability to adsorb on the metal surface making a barrier to mass and charge transfer. (2) Present a prototype Data Center review to support data integrase by implementing ETL Process, cryptopost, and rest service. This research is expected to provide solution of data integration model between information system running on HTTP protocol. The integration model uses synchronous and asychronous schemes. This type of research is research and development (Research and Development) with Agile SCRUM Framework research model. For the testing process, two (2) test process stages are performed: (1) whitebox and (2) blackbox testing.

Possible mechanisms of naphthalene toxiclogy G6PD reduces nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosp... more Possible mechanisms of naphthalene toxiclogy G6PD reduces nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADP +) to NADPH during oxidizing glucose-6-phosphate (G6P) [11], that involves in the biosynthesis of fatty acids or Abstract Naphthalene, a main ingredient in the traditional mouthballs is reported to cause various health problems, including hemolytic anemia, diarrhea, some neurological diseases and even cancer. This article aims to depict possible mechanisms of naphthalene-induced symptoms and diseases in human and other animals. Naphthalene may act through induction of oxidative stress and inflammatory pathways along with the alterations of some important cellular biochemicals such as gamma amino butyric acid, hemoglobin, glutathione and malondialdehyde. Sufficient measures should be taken to naphthalene exposure or consumption of naphthalenated products.
