In this paper, we describe and analyze five types of relative clause in terms of whether there is... more In this paper, we describe and analyze five types of relative clause in terms of whether there is a head noun, or where relative clauses occur in Qiang from typological perspective. Head-external relative clauses may be preposed to the head NP, which is similar to most verb-final languages, or follow relative clauses; or appear within a relative clause in terms of position of the head NP. Headless relative clauses omit the head in recoverable context. We also find double-headed relative clauses in Qiang, which is rare and is very interesting and important cross-linguistically.
