So arabian gave me a meme the other day, and I got sick, so I didn't end up doing it. Better late than never.

- ballet: When I was a little girl I used to watch all these old MGM movies with my mom, and I fell in love with the grace and beauty of ballet dancers like Cyd Charisse and Vera Ellen. So when I got older, I started taking ballet lessons, and I ended up being in dance for 9 years. I still love to watch MGM movies, and I also love watching actual ballets like The Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, the Nutcracker, etc. Ballet is a beautiful art form that is slowly fading away as everyone latches on to the flashy moves of hip hop and the like. *sniffs*

- Donna Noble: I admit, I didn't like Donna Noble in her first outing in "The Runaway Bride," but I thought she was an absolute breath of fresh air in series four. She played off the Tenth Doctor beautifully, and it was such a joy to see a companion not in love with the Doctor! Catherine Tate's comedic timing was pure gold, but she also played the dramatic parts with equal aplomb. Donna is definitely tied with Rose Tyler as my favorite New Who companion. <3

- Logan/Marie: My introduction to the X-Men universe (and basically all comic book verses) was with the 2001 movie X-Men. I fell in love with the tender relationship of Logan and Marie presented in the films. Here was this tough-as-nails-take-no-prisoners-kick-ass man carrying a truckload of bitter and depressed secrets, and yet he turned into a gentle protector whenever Marie was around. And Marie had such a debilitating crush on him. It was just so cute. Of course, then I ended up researching the comics and discovering that while Wolverine and Rogue have a flirty banter going on, they are not "canon". But at that point, I didn't care. I still ship 'em. I hope they have some moments in the upcoming movie Days of Future Passed, especially now that Rogue is of-age and can flirt with Wolverine without people screaming about pedophilia. -_-

- Maroon 5: I loved Maroon 5 before they and frontrunner Adam Levine became ubiquitous in the pop world and their concert ticket prices went from 50forawesomecenterseatsto50 for awesome center seats to 50forawesomecenterseatsto120 for crappy nosebleed seats *notbitter*. I fell in love with their first album Songs about Jane, and for every album after that I was one of the first in line to buy it. I was able to go to a concert with them right after the release of their third album Hands All Over but before the release of the single "Moves Like Jagger," which skyrocketed them to infamy. It was an awesome experience. Adam Levine et al. are true showmen. They were charismatic and entertaining, and they brought the entire stadium to its feet. Hands down, my favorite concert experience (though I'm going to see Train, Gavin Degraw and the Script in a few weeks, so we'll see if they'll top Maroon 5).

- The Beatles: The BEST band in the entire history of Rock music. Period. End of discussion. If you don't like the Beatles, there is no hope for you. I am a true blue fan. I know so much random trivia about the Beatles. I've seen all of their movies (except Let it Be which has never been released in my lifetime) I've listened to all of their songs, including the really obscure stuff found on Anthology. I'm just a weeeee bit obsessed. :D Favorite Beatle is George Harrison, if you hadn't figure out from my icon.

- William Shakespeare: One of my favorite writers. I read him and go see his plays just for fun. That's right, I flew to London to see David Tennant and Catherine Tate in a Shakespearean play. If the play hadn't been Shakespeare, I probably wouldn't have gone. It's srs bsns. :P If you tell me that Shakespeare did not exist, or was the amalgamation of several different writers, or some other crack theory, I will hurt you. Shakespeare was awesome and smart and witty and talented and relevant. And he still is all of those things 400ish years later. Bow to the Bard.
