cannot do without it. Governments and their agencies cannot function effectively without ICT interventions. The purpose of this study was to assess how far ICT
has been integrated into the Ghana Education head office and its impact on the various functions of the public service. The sample of the study covered Education
Headquarters all located in Accra. Education Headquarters is made up of Ministry of Education Head Office (MOE) and Ghana Education Service Head Office
(GES). In all 68 personnel participated in the study. A 5 point likert scale instrument which yielded reliability coefficients of 0.832 was used to collect data. It was
established from this study that more than 50% of public sector units and their functions have experienced ICT interventions. The study also revealed that despite
low performance of ICT in the public sector, with its continuous output failures, respondents still prefer ICT to manual processes, demanding that integration of
ICT into public service should be pursued. Considering the findings and conclusions drawn from the study it was recommended that public sector managers should
adopt a strategic plan for ICT integration in the public service.

investigate the effect of gender, subject specialization, teaching experience, and school status on basic school teachers’ level of computer literacy in Ghana. The
sample of the study covered 30 basic schools (20 public schools and 10 private schools) in Jomoro District in the western region of Ghana. In all 105 teachers
participated in the study. An instrument structured on a 4 point likert scale and which yielded reliability coefficients of 0.944 was used to collect data. The study
showed that statistically significant differences exist between males and females in their familiarity with some types of Information Communication Technology.
More male teachers than female teachers were familiar with Hard disk, RAM, CD-ROM, Monitor, Sound Card, and Joystick. The study also showed that teacher’s
major subject area and the teaching experience had no effect on their familiarity with Information Communication Technology. Finally, the study also revealed
that Public and Private school teachers did not differ significantly in their familiarity with Information Communication Technology. It is recommended that more
attention should be paid to Information Communication Technology in the initial teacher training programme in Ghana. The colleges of education must be well
equipped with Information Communication Technology facilities so that they can train teachers with good knowledge in Information Communication Technology
for our basic schools.

computer users. The objectives are: to identify the duration spent using the computer at the workplace; to
determine musculoskeletal disorders on the computer users and to identify the condition of the office space. A
total of 85 administrative staffs were randomly sampled for the study. A well-structured questionnaire was used
for collecting data. Descriptive statistics was used to analyse the data in the form of frequencies and means.
Logistic regression analyses on 85 full-time working employees showed that working almost the whole working
day with a computer was associated with computer vision syndrome (which consists of eyestrain, tired eyes,
irritation, redness, blurred vision, and double vision), headaches and backache recording very high mean scores
as 4.73, 4.66, and 4.28 respectively. An excessive heat and or poor/inadequate lighting in the offices affect the
computer users. The conclusions drawn from this study is the furniture used must be designed to reduce the
musculoskeletal disorders of computer users. Ventilation and lighting systems must be provided in the offices to
help save the eye sight and the general well-being of the administrative workers who constantly use the
computers.

The objectives are to determine the types of Information and Communication Technology equipment used at Cape Coast Polytechnic and to establish how the secretary's performance and productivity level has been enhanced by using Information and Communication Technology in the office. The descriptive survey method was used for this study. A simple random sampling technique was used to select a total of 100 out of 120 professional secretaries for the study. Questionnaires involving both open and closed ended questions were used to collect data. The data obtained from the field were analyzed and the responses were presented using descriptive statistics in the form of tables and mean to give clear picture of the survey. The result indicated that a greater number of respondents strongly agreed that Information and Communication Technology equipment helps in saving time, as compared with the old ways of doing things before the modern office equipment were introduced. It had the highest mean of 4.62. Many of the respondents strongly agreed that, the introduction of Information and Communication Technology has improves positively their performance level in their offices, recording a mean of 4.43 and this also affected productivity level in the organization. While ICT is productive on its own, it is more productive in firms that combine high levels of ICT with high levels of organizational changes in the areas of production and efficiency practices.

A total sample of 100 professional secretaries was used in this study. Questionnaires involving both open and closed ended questions were used to collect data. This study showed that there are computers, photocopiers and telephones in every office of the professional secretaries in the habour, however, not all the offices have electric typewriters, scanning machines, shredding machines, fax machines and duplicating machines. The result of the study also showed that all the secretaries accepted that the introduction of Information and Communication Technology in their offices has ensured increased in efficiency in their performance and has also made it possible for them to implement major changes as well as making corrections easily. As a result, it has and also ensured accuracy and uniformity in their performance. The secretaries strongly agreed that, the introduction of Information and Communication Technology has positively improved their performance level in their offices and this has contributed positively in the office. business today. Instant messaging, the Internet, internal and external telephone systems especially mobile devices and Intranets are now integral to the workings of office life. These advances in Information and Communication Technology have shaped the development of the modern office. Most business offices of today have turned their desks into "workstations," with desktop computers or laptops connected to a network of other PCs in the same office and even beyond.
