The occurrence of road traffic accidents are of a major public health importance. In recent years, there has been an increase in motorcycling as a means of transport in Assin Foso and Ghana as a whole. It is believed that motorcycle is also a source of employment and income to young people. This increase in motorcycling has been accompanied by an increase of motorcycle crash injuries. Despite the alarming increase of motorcycle crash injuries, little is known about the reported incidence, injury pattern and treatment outcome of motorcycle crash injuries managed at the St. Francis Xavier Hospital in Assin Foso. The study sought to identify the incidence, pattern of injury and treatment outcome of motorcycle crash injury victims treated at the St. Francis Xavier Hospital. This was a retrospective cross sectional analysis of secondary data on motorcycle crash injuries from January 2012 to December 2015 reported at the hospital. A data extraction tool was used to extract the information from the statistical department of the St. Francis Xavier Hospital. Data on demographic factors, the number of cases, injury patterns and treated outcome were recorded. The injuries were grouped into anatomical location (extremities, spine, chest and soft tissue injuries) and the outcome of treatment was recorded as; discharged, referred or died. Data were entered into Epi-info program for coding and statistical analysis. In the period of four years, a total of 1272 road traffic injuries were recorded, out of which 347 representing 27.3% were as a result of motorcycle crash. The study included all 347 crash injury victims. 218 (62.8%) were males and 129 (37.2%) were females. Majority of the motorcycle crash injury victims were between the ages of 16 and 35 years. The extremity injuries 208 (60%) and soft tissue injuries 120 (34.8%) were the commonest musculoskeletal injuries. Lower limb fractures had the highest proportion (59%) of extremity injuries. Majority of the crash injury victims 212 (61%) were referred since the hospital does not have an orthopedic department and a functioning intensive care unit.
