The methods are validated using a set of pottery sherds that were collected during surveys at the ancient site of Koroneia (Greece), which were carried out by the ‘Ancient Cities of Boeotia’ team (under the directorship of Professor J. Bintliff). Both automatic classification techniques produce good results using different sherd classification criteria, such as shape, production technique and chronology.

This phenomenon, known as the user centric media (UCM), will play a significant role in forming of rapidly approaching era of the future Internet. The aim of this paper is to present the consolidated opinion of the UCM cluster composed of representatives of ongoing FP6 & FP7 EU funded projects, under the guidance of the networked media systems unit of the information society and media directorate general of the European commission. Our goal is to identify concrete scientific challenges that will probably be the constitutional pillars of the research in the area of future media Internet (FMI), with a particular emphasis on the issues of personalized & creative media, 3D & immersive media, and future Internet communities.

The aim of this track is to evaluate the performance of 3D shape retrieval algorithms that can operate on arbitrary 3D models. The benchmark dataset consists of 1000 3D objects classified in 50 categories. The 3D models are mainly classified based on visual shape similarity and each class has equal number of models to reduce the possible bias in evaluation results. Two groups have participated in the track with six methods in total.

However, Internet was designed for purposes that bear little resemblance to today's usage scenarios and related traffic patterns. In the longer term, the exponential increase of the user generated multimedia content and the number of mobile users will raise many new challenges. Based on work

In this paper, we address two important issues, pertinent to TI environments. The paper focuses on techniques for the real-time, 3D reconstruction of moving humans from multiple Kinect devices. The off-line generation of real-life 3D scenes
