But what about the outside? Often, there are still unlit individual pushbuttons without any kind of feedback for the user. The advantages of modern HMIs are obvious: CAN keypads in particular are easy to install, offer a high level of operating convenience and outstanding diagnostic capabilities, so you can transfer clever operating concepts from inside the cab to outside and support the operator in their daily work – under any weather conditions! 𝗘𝗿𝗴𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 – 𝗶𝗻 𝟯𝗗! Revolutionary design and user-friendliness at its best: EAO created a railway-certified prototype-panel in three-dimensional shape! This opens up new opportunities in terms of ergonomics. In our example for the driver's cab, the strategically placed emergency stop switch is highlighted and angled for quick and reliable operation in an emergency. The other pushbuttons though, can be operated at the ideal angle to the control panel. The example panel is rounded off with bright, dimmable indicators, a fully graphical and energy-efficient display, an integrated USB-C charging socket and a sound indicator.
