The Variosystems Talent Factory is back for its second year, and it’s bigger and better than ever! In collaboration with regional technology leaders, 16 apprentices from Variosystems, Aerne Engineering, FPT Motorenforschung, Stadler Rail, and SBW Romanshorn have successfully completed two complex interdisciplinary projects over 20 weeks. The projects – which focused on the development of electronic gyroscopes and USB multi-hubs – took the apprentices through every phase, from the product concept to the PCB assembly at Variosystems’ Incubator in Zizers, till the industrial robot-assisted packaging at the RoboTech Lab in Arbon. Along the way, the students were supported by media experts from SBW Romanshorn, who ensured professional communication and video production. As Variosystems CEO Stephan Sonderegger highlighted during his keynote speech at the final presentation, "The Talent Factory is central to our training program. It is a fantastic opportunity for the participating technology companies to introduce them as attractive employer in the region and promote career opportunities in electronics, software and mechanical engineering." The event also marked the unveiling of a new robotic transfer system for industrial automation, along with significant investments into the RoboTech Lab, including a mobile autonomous robot, a laserscanner, a lasercutter, VR-glasses and new 3D printers. These investments will continue to support cutting-edge learning and development opportunities for the next generation of talent. Birdypol, the driving force behind the Talent Factory, continues to expand its high-tech educational ecosystem in Eastern Switzerland, providing practical experiences in robotics, AI, nanotechnology, and more. With growing partnerships and a commitment to innovation, the Talent Factory is set to remain a cornerstone of technical education.
