Chamberpot of Secrets (original) (raw)
So, I know, I know, enough on Hagrid--but has anybody realized how BIG this guy is?
I cut this out of one of my earlier videos but I had this whole discussion about how large Hagrid is. I guess with the movies and the passage of time he got gradually smaller but I mean, reread this description:
"If the motorcycle was huge, it was nothing to the man sitting astride it. He was almost twice as tall as a normal man and at least five times as wide. He looked simply too big to be allowed, and so _wild-_long tangles of bushy black hair and beard hid most of his face, he had hands the size of trash can lids, and his feet in their leather boots were like baby dolphins. In his vast, muscular arms he was holdng a bundle of blankets."
Okay, so that puts Hagrid height wise at roughly 14 feet tall.
Digest that for a moment.
Discuss.
Did Hagrid shrink in your head?
How is some one that huge living in a small wooden hut?
Why does it take Rita Skeeter for people to finally go "Oh, duh, he's a half-breed" if he's really THAT big?
On another note, I guess rereading this helped me swallow his near death miss in the 7th book when him and Harry fall out of the air and have a rather harsh landing. That combined with Neville's accident (that big of a drop and all he gets is a broken wrist? There's magic afoot here [duh]). I mean, a huge drop for some one that's only 5 or 6 feet...probably not so bad for some one who is 14 feet.
